She called me last night, and
I almost didn't think it was her.

She said she can feel the sun again,
The brilliant rays touching her skin.
Impairing her vision but
In the best way possible.

She said she can't hear his voice now
And then she starts crying,
thanking someone she doesn't even believe in.

She said the taste of
alcohol and smoke
are no longer appealing.

She said the smell of daffodils
Will dance in her mind for hours
and will remind her that
not all things are out to hurt her.

And she said she can see a future,
Finally,
She can pull herself forward now.

She said goodbye,
And hung up the phone.
