Chapter seven

The first place we went was the thrift shop down the road. Ironic much. We walk in and it smells old and kinda musty.

We walk over to the clothes. I find a sweet leather jacket. "You should try it on." Neva says. "Ok." I says sliding my arms into the cold sleeves. It fits just great! I turn to Neva. "Looks great!" She says. "Yea it's comfy too." I say. "I think you should get it!" She says. " Defiantly." I say. I fling it over my arm.

Neva goes over to the home section. I keep looking though the clothes. I find some shirts. None for the video though.

Something catches my eye. I turn and there is a solid jet black fox tail! I need it. I briskly walk over and take a look. It's baisicy the same as my other but without the white end. I like it and I'm getting it. I put it on the pile on my arm.

I go look at the men's shoes. Mostly gym shoes, dress shoes, but nothing I like. I better go look for Neva.

I walk across the store to the home section. I find her looking at some wall pictures. I see one with a cool looking Picasso pattern. "I like this one." I say pointing at it. I think I scared her. " Yea I was looking at that. I think for living room." She says. " Exactly what I was thinking. Let's get it." I say as Neva picks it up. It looks like she found a sweater and some shirts.

"Ready to pay?" Neva asks me. "Yup, where else do you want to stop after this?" I ask as we walk to the checkout. "Umm how about the Eaton centre?" She asks. "Sure I wanted to go look for some shoes anyway." I say looking down at my sad looking converse shoes. They are my favourite but they are ripped on the heel so I should get new ones. " What kind?" Neva asks. " Just ones to replace these ones." I say pointing at my feet. She looks and laughs. "Haven't you had those for like 3 years already?" She asks giggling. "Yea."

We arrive at the checkout and Neva puts her stuff on top of the counter. The man behind the till starts scanning. I pull out my debit card. " Your not paying for me!" Neva says. " Oh yes, I am!" I say challengingly raising my eyebrow. "But your already letting me live with you..." she says. "But I was lonely anyway so everyone wins." I say sliding my card into the card machine and entering my pin. Neva hits me on the arm while I start picking up bags. I just smile at her with a crooked smile. She picks up the three bags I left for her and we walk out the door.

I unlock my trunk and put in the bags and close it again. Neva and I get into the car and I start it up. I pull out onto the street and start driving to the Eaton centre.

Once I find a parking spot we get out and walk into the huge shopping centre. I really have never went through the whole thing in one day.

Me and Neva go into the shoe store and she goes over to the women's running shoes as I go the the men's sneakers. I start looking for something to replace my old ones. Some on the end of the row catch my eye. Leopard vans. I pick out my size and find a bench to try them on.

I find one at the end of the row. I take my shoes off and out on the vans. They are so comfier than my old ones. I really like these. I take them off and out them back in their box. I slip on my old shoes and go look for Neva.

She is looking at two colours of shoes. I sneak up behind her and say. "I like the blue ones." Neva practically jumps out of her skin. She turns around and slaps my arm. "Camm! Don't do that!" She says with a startled voice. "Sorry not sorry." I say laughing. " What did you pick out?" Neva says looking at the box I'm carrying. I open the lid. " Wow those are really cool! I wish they made some for girls." She says. " So you think I should get the blue ones?" " Yea I like them better then the purple ones." I say. "Ok there the ones, I'm getting then." She says. "Ok them let's go pay." I say walking to the till.

We pay for our shoes and decide to walk to the food court for lunch. We decide on EDO. As we get into line I recognize the short man in front of us.
