Anna and her cronies were all there and went to sit down in their usual table. Thankfully today I didn't have to cover that section so I wouldn't have to go talk to them for once.
The section I was covering included the counter but there were only a couple people here today so I was just standing around waiting for someone to need something. I was getting some change out of the cash register when the door opened.
"Sit anywhere and someone will be by to help you!" I yelled with my back to the person.
I went over to give the change to the middle aged couple as they were leaving and grabbed the dishes from their table. After dropping them in the kitchen I saw that there was a new addition to one of the seats at the counter. I saw that it was a man about my age or a couple years older and I had to say he was very handsome.
" Have you decided what you want?" I asked when I was back behind the counter.
" Just a black coffee and whatever pie you recommend" he smiled at me.
I grabbed his order and passed it to him as he slid something I recognized across the counter. It was my bag that I had left in the cave. As I look at him now I start to see the resemblance between him and the man that interrupted me surfing the day before.
"I saw that you left it when I took a rest in that cave yesterday and didn't want the tide to take it out."
" Oh. Well thank you but I'm sure it would've been fine." I said while hoping that he hadn't gone through it. There wasn't anything embarrassing but I still didn't want this sexy man looking through my things.
" I just looked to see if there was anywhere I could catch you to return it and found a card for this place. I didn't take anything I swear." He said while smirking at me.
I was now getting more flushed so I took the bag and put it on one of the shelves under the counter while avoiding eye contact.
" I hope I wasn't the one that scared you off yesterday. I just saw that there was some really good waves coming in yesterday and couldn't resist" he continued smirking, likely knowing he had an effect on me.
"I'm sure you couldn't" I said without even realizing it and getting redder when he just laughed.
" Well if it's okay with you I was going to continue going out there since it's such a prime spot and you were the only person I saw while I was there?"
" It's not like I own the waves. You're welcome to go out there" I tried to say it and not show my disappointment that my special spot had been discovered by someone else.
"Well if you're sure that it won't bother you I'm sure we can share just fine."
"Well I've picked up more hours here so I probably won't be able to go out there much" I spat out an excuse for why I won't be going out there anymore.
"Is that why you were out there for hours today before you started your shift here?" He smirked at me. "I drive past that place on the way to a friends house and saw you out there when I went and you were still there when I came back to town."
I stayed silent because I know my fake excuse had just exploded before my eyes.
"Well I usually have a little time before I come to work, but I'm lucky to get out there every day."
"Well, what does your schedule look like for tomorrow?"
I couldn't decide whether or not to tell him it was my one day off tomorrow or not, but my coworker decided to do it for me when she yelled out at that exact moment that she was getting ready to leave and she hoped I had a good day off.
The guy looked at me and had a huge smile on his face as I stood there with a shocked expression on my face. "Well maybe I'll see you out on the waves tomorrow." He said while getting ready to leave as he had finished his pie while we were talking. "By the way sweetheart, my name is Nathan" he winked while pulling out a ten dollar bill and then he walked away and left us both with a smile on our faces.

----------
When I got home around 10pm I still had a smile. Not even the snarky comments from Anna as she left could bring my mood down right now.
What could, was the decision I had to make about what I was going to do tomorrow. Nathan seemed like a nice person and it didn't seem like he was judging me while we talked, but I couldn't help but have a feeling of mistrust like I do with every new person I meet.
Maybe I should just take my chance and go out really early in the morning like 5:30 or 6 since I don't have a class until around 1pm and maybe he won't be there.
Right now I was home alone since my mom was at her own place. She sometimes came to stay with me when one of us missed the other but most of the time I'm alone and just end up watching some TV until I fall asleep. I'm not exactly a social butterfly but sometimes my friends would decide to drag me out of my shell and go to a club or something. Thankfully we went out a few days ago so they should be satisfied and leave me alone for a week or so until they decided I needed to participate again. It would be really easy to hate them for making me do things like that, but I know they just want me to be happy and I can only love them more for that.
I go to sleep early when I decided to go with my plan to go out early. I just wonder what tomorrow will bring.
