Chapter 10: Lead Me Out Of The Dark

Adrian's POV

We rush Beya to the nearest hospital and run all the red lights on the way over there. When we finally made it to the Hospital me and Chris rushed into the emergency room.

"Help!!! Help!!! Somebody please fucking help us!!!!" I yelled out as I looked down at Beya and see that she is as pale as snow and she has stopped breathing. By now I'm on the brink of breaking down. Don't cry Adrian, be strong, I think to myself. Finally after what seems like forever someone finally comes running with a bed and takes Beya from me and rushes her down a hallway while checking her heart, etc. I start to walk towards them quickly to follow them but a nurse stops me by standing in front of me.

"Sir, I'm going to need you to stay here in the waiting room" she says calmly.

"What?! I can't leave her alone in here!!! I need to be with her! She's my best friend!!!" I yell at her and try to push past her.

"Sir please!" she says grabbing me but I keep fighting my way past her as i start to slowly break down then Chris finally grabs of hold of me, making sure I don't go anywhere and that's when I finally break and fall to the ground, still struggling to get out of his grip.

"Let me go!!! I have to be with her!" I yell in frustration.

"No Adrian! You need to stay here so Beya can get better!" he yells back as his grip on me gets tighter.

He starts pulling me off the ground and walking me towards the waiting room of the E.R. This is going to be the longest night of my life.

5 hours later

We've been waiting here for five hours and still no news about Beya. A few hours ago Ezie, Ben, and Vic made there ways over here and have been here since.

As I'm staring at the ground and my body shaking in anticipation I finally here,"Who is a relative of Beya Nicole?" a male doctor asks no one in particular. I stand up and say,"No one here Doctor but I'm Adrian and I'm pretty close to family."

"Very well then, I guess I'll give you the news." As he says this everyone stands up and walks over to us to hear what's going on.

"Well is she ok?! Is she alive?!" Ezie asks.

"She is alive..but barely...I'm sorry to you all but Ms. Nicole has fallen into a coma and we aren't sure how long she will be in it nor do we know if she will even awake from it." At this my heart shatters into a million pieces. Beya might not make it?! The little girl I've known for forever might leave me and Ezie forever?!?! I can't believe this!!

I hear Ezie scream in agony and that's when I've had enough and just walk out of the hospital, not knowing where I'm going nor even care. I just need to get out of there.

Beya's POV

Darkness..That's all I see. Darkness. I don't remember what happened or where I am.

"Hello?" i call out into the darkness. No one answers. I walk forward and i notice that im in some sort of hallway.

"Hello??" I call out again.

"Beya?!" I hear a familiar voice call out in a ghost like tone."Beya?! Where are you?!"

No it can't be!

"Mom?!" I yell back, running down the never ending hallway.

"Beya?!" I hear my sister call out this time.

"Mercy?!"

"Beya?! Come to us! We need you!" they say in sync. I start to see their figures in front of me but they seem transparent, unreal..ghost like.

"No! This can't be!! You guys are dead!!" I yell as I approach them.

"Yes, but in you we are still alive. But you may not be alive much longer dear." my mom says.

"What do you mean?! What happened to me?!"

"You are on the brink of death darling that is why you are able to be here with us right now."

"Be with you where?! Where the hell am I?!!"

"You are nowhere. You are in the middle of heaven and Hell. We call it the" hall of choices" because this is where you decide if you are strong enough to survive what has happened to you or if you decide to give up and just go where you belong. But where you belong is up to the Great One. He decides where everyone goes." My sister says to me.

"So my sweet Beya..what will it be?"

"I love you guys and want to be with you and I am so happy that I have been blessed with being able to see you..but I'm not ready to go with you guys yet. I'm not ready to leave Ezie or Adrian or even all the people that I have met today..I-I just want to go back to them" I say as tears slide down my face.

My mom walks up to me and places her hand on my cheek,"As you wish Beya..Your soul will be sent back down to your body on Earth, but you are in a coma and it is up to you to wake yourself from it..No one can do it but you. Be strong Beya and we will see you again."

"Goodbye Beya" my sister says as her and my mom start to fade.

"Goodbye. I love you!" i yell as they wave goodbye and disappear. When they finally vanish I see a bright light at the end of the hallway. I run to it as fast as I can and when I finally make it to the end there is this large wind that blows me away into the light. I shut my eyes tightly and wait for this all to end. I open my eyes and see that I am standing right next to my body. What?

I turn and look at where I am. I am in a hospital bed and Adrian is sitting in a chair next to me. Crying. I look at the rest of the room and see that Ezie, Vic, and Chris are crying as well and I see Ben there holding Ezie, trying to comfort her.

"I'm so sorry this happened to you Beya. I should have noticed that you weren't on the bus. I should have kept my eyes on you. If I would have been there for you this wouldn't have happened!" I hear Adrian whisper.

I run up to him and try to hug him but my arms go right through him. Crap.

"This wasn't your fault. This was no one's fault. I'm not really sure what happened to me but I know that it wasn't your fault." I try to tell him even though I know he can't hear me. i just sigh, kiss his cheek and walk back to my body.

I look like how my mom and sister looked. wow.

I lean into my body and feel myself being pulled back into it.
