"I think you should just tell him." Your brother said.
"But Usopp! He won't understand!" You whined while watching him make a new gadget.
"You aren't wrong there." Usopp deadpanned.
"Maybe try offering him some meat? Give him sweets? Oh come on, sis! Y'know I'm not Cupid!" Usopp complained.
"That's it! I got it! Thank you big bro!" You kissed Usopp's cheek and ran off.
Although Usopp got up and walked after you.
"Whatever's about to happen, I need to see."
Running down the hall you pass by everyone with a "Excuse Me!" and a "Sorry!" and let's not forget "I'm In A Hurry!"
Your plan was to make Luffy something tasty so he will love your cooking and fall in love with you!
"Genius (Name)!" You mumbled to yourself.
You started gathering up all the ingredients. You got all the supplies too.
"Yes! Nothing will stop me now!-"
"Hey (Name)!" Luffy said, casually jumping in.
"I'm uhhh....umm...helping Sanji bake something delicious for the crew!"
'Great save, moron.' You scolded yourself mentally.
While this catastrophe was going on, your brother, Usopp was listening in on the conversation.
"Eavesdropping?" Robin's smooth voice came out from behind the cowardly sniper.
"What?! Of course not! The Great Usopp would never do such a thing! I'm just looking out for my little sister, that's all."
Usopp was different when it came to family. He's more...protective and mature? Those may be the words to describe him.
"I see. Continue on with your eavesdropping."
"DIDN'T I JUST SAW I WASN'T EAVESDROPPING!"
"Something delicious?! OoOoO! I can't wait!" Luffy gawked.
"A-although it's a suprise! S-S-so you must leave the k-kitchen!"
"But I'm hungry...!" Luffy whined and complained.
"That's enough Luffy! You do want some of the treats, correct?" You were now slightly upset that he was ruining your plan.
"Very much so." Luffy immediately responded.
"Then get out!" You yelled, throwing one of the whisks at him.
"(EXAGGERATED SIGH) Finally."
"Let's get this show on the road!" Usopp said, finally coming out from hiding.
"Usopp?!"
"Don't worry, sis! The sibling rivalry can wait! Right now is a sibling bond."
"So when do you want to give it to him?" Usopp breathed out.
The kitchen was an absolute mess. Eggs on the ceiling, flour acting as a coat for the siblings, sugar-coating(see what I did there) their hair, icing covering the door, and in the center there was 20 macaroons that were beautiful. Although Sanji walked in at one point and helped them.
"Never." You said flopping down on the floor.
"What?! But you spent to much time on this!"
"Why did I think this was going to work? Luffy probably wants someone confident. Someone that can actually be suitable for his pirate queen."
Usopp was silent. He wrapped all of the macaroons in a napkin and put a note one top of them and then put it in Luffy's hammock.
Usopp picked up his sleeping younger sister and sat on the deck with her.
"He'll accept you. I just know it." He whispered before falling asleep with her.
The next day you woke up with a hug from your captain.
"Thanks for the treats (Name)!" Luffy yelled.
"I-I-I-it's! I-i m-m-mean! Your welcome!" You stuttered and stammered oh so much at that one moment. You quickly got out of his grasp and ran over to Robin and hid under her chair.
"Um. (Name)? What are you doing under Robin's chair?" Nami questioned while walking over.
"She's hiding from Luffy." Robin explained with a chuckle.
"Not funny!" You whined.
"Oh~! I see." Nami said with a smirk on her face.
"HEY LUFFY!" Nami called him over.
"What are you doing?!" You said while looking around for another hiding spot.
Luffy ran over.
"What is it?"
"(Name) here wants to tell you something!" Nami said with a dark chuckle.
He looked over to you.
"What is it?" He repeated, slightly confused at what was going on.
"I ummm. I umm!"
Nami and Robin walked away but were still listening.
"I love you!"
"I love you too! You're my nakama after all!"
'He doesn't get it.' Everyone on the ship deadpanned.
Oh forget it. It's not like he would've gotten it anyways. Like I said. He would want someone confident. Someone who could fight! Someone that isn't a coward! WHY WOULD I BE GOOD ENOUGH?!Someone...someone...-
"I've heard enough (Name)."
"W-what do you mean?" That's when you realized. You said that all aloud. You looked at him with tearful eyes. And you sprinted away. Usopp quickly went after you.
Nami went up to Luffy and...well...
*BONK*
I think that explains it.
"SHE DIDN'T MEAN AS A NAKAMA, MORON!"
"Then what did she mean?!" Luffy asked while rubbing his new found bump.
"She meant as a companion. You know how a King loves his Queen?" Sanji stepped in.
"Mhm." Luffy sounds.
Everyone was silent.
"And?" Luffy questioned.
'HE STILL DOESN'T GET IT?!' The crew dropped to the floor. Except Robin of course. She was just giggling.
After a while of trying to get Luffy to understand, he finally understood.
"She thinks she's too much of a coward and she thought if she would be able to, she wouldn't be labeled as a coward. But after your little rejection there, she isn't going to try again and she isn't going to try again. She probably isn't going to gain back her confidence." Zoro explained to him.
Luffy's hat shadowed his eyes.
He got up and walked in the direction You and Usopp went.
"It's okay." Usopp repeated while rubbing your back as you cried.
"Hey, (Name)?" Luffy was trying to be cautious not to hurt your feelings again.
You looked up and your face broke his heart.
Your face was tear stained with crumbs of cookies of stress eating and your hair looked like a bush.
Usopp whispered that you should give a second chance. He looks like he understands now. Then your big brother left the room.
"I'm sorry (Name)."
"It's okay."
It was quite for a while. It wasn't comfortable though.
"Why did you think you weren't good enough?"
"Because you probably want someon who is confident and can fight for themselves. Like Nami. Not a coward."
Luffy slowly walked over to you.
It only scared you at how slow he was walking. And then he jumped on you and hugged you.
"Coward or Not, you are the best girl I have ever met. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. I don't care if you aren't confident! I'll help you bring it back up! I don't care if you can't fight! I'll protect you! I don't care if you're a coward! BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!"
"Luffy?" You breathed.
"Thank you!" You yelled while crying into his shoulder. You looked up and with all of your strength, you said it.
"I love you too Luffy!"
And you shared your first kiss with the man-er boy of your dreams that day.
Right outside stood the crew, some yelling with victory and some crying of joy, or maybe both.
