As the bell rang for recess,Thalia Sanders rush to the library to borrow the book she wanted to read. Most of the students during recess time drag their feet towards the direction of the cafeteria but Thalia is a special case. She thinks that the library is where the food lays. And what do you think the library consists of? Of course, books. So in short, the books are her food(not literally). To make it more understandable, she's a certified bookworm.

Thalia reached the library and immediately rush to the section where the classic novels are located. Her face lit up when she saw the books that are arranged in front of her. Perusing through the bookshelves, she traced the spine of every book, reading each title. Finally, she found the book she have been looking for.

The novel Absalom, Absalom by William Faulkner.

As Thalia grab the book, she felt someone tug the book from her. Again, she drag it but the person from the other side of the shelf grasp it tightly. She peek through the space to see who's the person trying to take the book from her. It is a boy wearing horn-rimmed glasses.

'Real old-fashioned' she thought. She loses her grip at the book as he pull it, this time with more strength.

"Hey!That's mine." The boy ducked his head to look at her, quirking an eyebrow.

"What's yours?"

"The book. I've been eyeing that the whole time,"she hissed, pointing her finger to the book he is holding.

He clutch the book tightly, drawing it onto his chest. "And you think you are the one who's dying to read this? Sorry but first come, first serve."

Thalia made her way to where the boy stands. He whipped his head as Thalia trudge towards his direction."I need that book. It is the only copy you know."

"Yes I know. But I got it first. You just have to wait-"She immediately cut off the boy from finishing his sentence.

"Wait?? I want to read that book before it gets lost or borrowed or-"

"Okay fine. First of all, you do realize that this is a library right?"Thalia nodded.

"Don't worry about the book getting lost because the book is being taken cared of here,"he reasoned out. They were silent for a while until the boy spoke. "I have an idea."

Her ears perked up, interested to what would the boy said. "What idea?"

"Why don't we share the book. Maybe exchanging turns will do."

"Well yes! That will do,"she said. "Who's holding the book for now?"

"Me. And don't worry, I'll be the one to ask permission to borrow,"he answered. "I'll hand it to you tomorrow."

Thalia can't keep herself from asking out. "Do you know where's my classroom?"

The boy didn't respond and turned, starting to walk away. But as he reached the end of the shelf,he supplied her the answer."Believe me,I know you. And by the way,I am Nathan."

He disappeared from the corner, leaving Thalia lost in her thoughts.
