((Also in these Manny will be a teen-- 16-17 or so??))You had met the bubbly teen one day when you were out to visit your local library. You reckoned it had been some time since you read an actual book, so you decided to settle on a calming atmosphere.
However, that was not what you got.
The moment you walked into the cool building, you heard children squealing and claps ringing throughout. This slightly annoyed you, since you finally crawled out of your isolated home to have some peace.
The chiming of the door alerted your presence, and you walked inside, the cold air conditioning hitting your face. The smell of paper and dusty books filled your nostrils, giving you a sense of nostalgia.
Immediately, you headed straight towards the [F/BG] section. The sound of children got slightly louder, telling you that apparently the children's center was close by.
However, you ignored the thought and began skimming through some books.
~Time Skip~
It had been only about 10 minutes or so when you decided that this wasn't as great as you had thought. The books were old and not updated, none being to your liking.
As you were about to head out, you suddenly heard a deep, but slightly charming ((yeah yeah lets say his voice got better when he got older)) voice say, "-and the funny notebook had magical rainbow hair that was made of yarn!"
What?
You turned back around, waking into the scene of the storyteller.
Children gathered around a boy-- a teenager, probably around your age-- with striking bright blue hair, and an odd match of orange and blue eyes. However, they seemed as if they were filled with giddiness and curiosity. His skin had a faint tint of yellow to it, and he wore colorful overalls over a white shirt. In one hand, he held a notebook made of various cloths and materials. In his other was a hand puppet that looked almost exactly like him.
Oddly enough, he acted like he was still a child himself, explaining and acting the story out to the small kids with exaggerating words. Every now and then, the group of children would giggle, awe, and even gasp.
You found yourself listening in on the story too, eventually, leaning on a bookshelf next to you behind all the children. You didn't notice the small smile forming on your mouth as you watched.
In fact, you listened for so long that the children eventually began to leave, the blue-haired boy now packing away small hand puppets and other props into a backpack.
You didn't notice you were dozing off until someone tapped your shoulder, laughing, "Did you like the show?"
Surprised, you slightly jumped, stuttering, "Ha?! Wha- oh, no! I mean, yes! I assure you that I don't usually do thi--"
"Well that's good to hear!" The boy said, chuckling at your embarrassed state, beginning to walk out the library, you trailing closely behind. "I don't usually do this either, but I happened to walk by the library, so I gave it a shot." He shrugged.
"..But you had that bag with you..?"
"Oh, that? I bring them everywhere! Kinda feel insecure without them."
"A handsome boy who still plays with dolls. I like your style."
This line caused the teen to laugh loudly, saying afterwards. "Thanks. But these aren't really dolls.. They're pretty special to me actually!"
You decided to not argue with him, walking down the steps of the library until you made it onto the sidewalk.
You noticed, strangely, you actually had fun talking with the boy. He was cute, funny, good with kids, and-- wait! You don't even know his name!
You burned a bright red from embarrassment, realizing what you had done. Stalked a cute boy, talked to him, teased him, all without knowing his name!
He seemed to notice your embarrassment, tilting his head to the side adorably. This just made you even redder. Then, he realized.
"Oh!" He chimed, index finger pointing up in a eureka moment. "My name is Manny. Yours?" His lips forming a cute smile. He reached out his hand.
"I'm [Y/N]. Pleased to meet you." You didn't notice it, but once again, a smile began to etch its way onto your features. You took his hand in yours and shook it.
Manny slightly squeezed it, saying, "You have a cute smile, you know?"
Your ears were tinted with a faint red, as were your cheeks. "So do you." You replied, looking away.
Suddenly, Manny shook your hand vigorously with excited eyes. "Let's be friends, yes?"
You swore, you couldn't stop smiling. You probably had the same excited eyes as he did at that moment.
"Sure!"
The boy then let go of your hand, pulling you into a bear hug. Jeez, was he touchy!
Afterwards, the two of you swapped numbers, giggling a bit as you both did so.
In the end, he walked you to your house, and it was worth going to the library.
You couldn't wait till you could see him again.
