Meetings and Plans- Chapter 11

Ariel's POV:

I woke up at around eight in the morning. Why? Well I couldn't really sleep after my nightmare and memory. If this was only a small glimpse, then I really don't want to know what happened to me while I was kidnapped. When I woke up, I decided to try to curl my hair. It was difficult at first, but then every movement became natural. All I did was pin it back so it wouldn't block my face. I decided to do my makeup how I normally used to do it according to my stylists. Pen still hasn't popped up, so maybe she was still asleep, or she's waiting for me to get changed. I walked across my room to my closet, and opened it. I didn't want to wear a sweater, or jacket, today so I decided to with a pink dress that was a replica of Princess Aurora's pink dress. I pulled it off from the hanger, and zipped up the back. I'm happy my arms are flexible enough to be able to zip up the back on my own. I spotted a comfortable pair of baby pink flats with black lace outlining the shoes. I walked to my full body mirror, and approved my outfit. I'm still finding it a pain to wear dresses, but I'm also starting to get used to them. I walked over to my dresser and opened the small box where my jewelry was in. I slipped on all of it, and looked in the box again hoping to see the skull ring. There was nothing in the box. I wonder where I put it... My gaze landed on the unopened boxes, and I walked towards them. I was going to open the one that read "Photo Albums and Sketches" when Pen finally popped up. "It's not in there. It's not here in the palace if that's what you were thinking," she said from somewhere in the room.

I jumped a bit when I heard her voice, and looked for her. I found her sitting on my bed picking on her newly painted purple glitter nails. "Do you know where I can find it then?" I questioned her while standing up and brushing my dress off.

She sighed and looked up at me. "I can tell you, but then where's the fun in that?" she said with a sly smile.

She stood up from the bed, and I noticed that today she was wearing a shirt that had a film cover on it, and the words Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone were under the picture. She paired it with white jeans, and black converse. She kept her hair in a high ponytail, and she wore no makeup. "There're films on the Harry Potter series?" I said a little too excited when I saw her shirt.

Pen smiled and said, "Yes! But I suggest you read the books before you watch the movies. It'll make more sense that way."

"Wait... You wore that shirt on purpose, huh?" I fake glared at her.

Pen giggled. "Maybe...," she said with a not so innocent smile.

"Ugh... Pen, I swear sometimes I feel as if you're not telling me everything you know."

"Ariel, I want to, but you also need to discover things on your own. I can't always tell you every detail. I told you that I would help you, not that I would tell you every detail of your past. So far, I have helped you, and a lot. Harry has also helped, but we can't tell you everything. I'd love to tell you everything I know," she said while walking up to me and grabbing my hands in hers. "It's just that I can't tell you because I'd be breaking my code of conduct. I promise you that everything will come soon, but keep in mind that not all memories are pleasant as you discovered last night."

"You're right, Pen. But it would make things easier for me. That way I won't be having such a hard time in trusting people-."

"You have a hard time trusting people? Ariel, listen to yourself! Just yesterday you were trusting Adrien and Evelia as if they were harmless!"

"Pen, are trying to make me doubt them?"

"No! I just want you to see that you don't have any trouble trusting people, and that's the issue. I just want you to be a bit more cautious with your choice of friends."
