I stared at the back of the woman's head as she leads me through the woods to her apparent 'home', she seemed to glide across the ground and her hair would sway in the wind the way smoke did when it drifted away. "Are you going to tell me who you are?" I voiced keeping my distance away from her. "If you want me to put it up front I'm your mother." she stated glancing back at me. I stopped walking and scoffed causing her to stop, turn around, and give me a look. "What?" she questioned gliding towards me "You don't believe me?" she added now in front of my face. "My mother is dead." I told her glaring down at her. "I'm a spirit, oh wise one! you called on me and now you're disrespecting me." the woman scoffed poking me in the chest. My glare became harsher, my mother was a touchy subject once Gretta, told me how she died and what Regina would refer to her as 'The wicked woman who gave birth to a beast'. "This is some sick foolery Regina set up?" I asked feeling my claws draw from my nail beds. "What? She wanted to get a good laugh before she had me killed!" I snapped raising my hand and striking her face. I watched as my clawed hands went through her in awe. she stood unbothered with a straight face. "Like I said, Son, I'm a spirit." she said softly. I shook my head not believing what was happening. "You're not her." I started staring down at her in disbelief.

She shook her head "Regina cursed you after she killed me in order to get your father. she won that but are you going to allow her to win this?" The woman I wouldn't bare to believe was my mother asked. "Win what? Wanting me dead? I think she's won quite enough! I mean look at me I might as well be dead." I huffed gesturing down at my unusual body. The spirit scoffed and mumbled "I think you look rather adorable in a way." under her breath.

"You're either a weird ghost lady with even weirder turn on's or you're actually my mother." I said watching her roll her eyes. "you for sure have the confidence of your father about women." She grumbles. "But are you really going to let her deny you of your kingdom and are you going to sit back and allow her prideful son marry that girl you gazed at in the village...I know you like her." she trailed off with a knowing smirk. my face turned red with sudden embarrassment. "I don't-"

"nO oNe As bEaUtIfUl aS hEr dEsErVeS tO Be tHe pRiZe oF a sNaKe PRiNcE-" She mocked making me even more embarrassed. "And don't think I didn't see you save her from that big bugger back at the village." She added.

"Look lady-"

"Call me Mom." she cuts me off before nodding for me to continue. "No one would want me as a king if they didn't want me when I was a prince and Valentina doesn't need to be laughed at if we were together." I admitted.

"There is always a way to undo a curse and I've paid attention to that Valentina she's a real sweetheart. She's capable of loving you if you let her."

I sat quietly in a large closet filled with all sorts of clothes and shoes and jewelry as Regina and her right-hand maid picked out dresses, shoes, and jewelry for me to wear. they both murmured and mumbled about this was a casual event or how that was either too small or too big or just plain ugly the item was. "Mother we are waiting for you and Valentina-- great!" Elijah grumbled when he saw me sitting there waiting. "All this time she wasn't even dressed!" He added.

"This is going to be the first time the prime minister and the nobles meet their new queen we had to make sure she stood out from everyone!" Regina smiled.

"Well, we're tired of waiting! she'll wear this! he said grabbing a solid colored sun dress. "The rest of the women are trying too hard to impress! Light make up too there was practically melting off of their faces." Elijah said shoving the dress into the maid's hand before peering over at me. "She'll stand out amongst them, she's far more beautiful than the run-y caked faced clowns." and with that, he left.

Regina was about to speak when another maid came in with the look of pure fear in her features.

"What is it?" Regina asked annoyed with the new presence. "The beast escaped..." the maid trails off flinching. Regina froze before a murderous glint flooded her eyes. "Get her ready. I need to go speak to someone."

I eyed the cozy cottage confused. "How long have you been dead?" I questioned looking over at my ... mom. "27 years-- You are 27 right?" she asked standing next to me. "I just turned 27 a month ago---why does a ghost need a cottage?" I asked her cutting off my previous sentence. "Does it look like I would want to wonder around the woods for 27 years." She asked raising an eyebrow. "No..." I huffed.
"Lets go get you fed and bathed-"
"What does a ghost need with food?" I question.
"I leave food out for those who takes shelter here if you must be in my business." She sassed leading me in.
