Chapter 8: Operation Future Mrs. Clifford

Mikey's POV

"I have a crush on Nicole...." I said. The look on Zayn's face was priceless. 

"Man..that's great Mikey. When are you gonna tell her?" 

"I don't know Zayn. What if she doesn't like me back? I think she does but honestly I have no idea." 

Zayn has a puzzled look on his face. I'm kind of worried about what he's going to say.

"What are the hints that make you think she likes you?"

"Well, I've caught her staring at me a few times when I wake up in the mornings. And she seems to really have a connection to me. I wanna ask her out so bad. But I don't want to rush into things. What do I do?" Man, I never realized that she might actually like me too.

"I think you need to take things slow. Maybe get to know her better and then move into the relationship." 

"I think you're right mate. Thanks Zayn."

"No problem mate. Anytime." 

Zayn is a great friend. Sometimes I don't know what I would do without him. Now, to start Operation: Future Mrs. Clifford.

Nicole's POV

I've noticed that Mikey is acting so different. I know I saw him and Zayn talking last night. And it looked like they were in a serious conversation. I just hope everything is okay. I would hate to see Mikey hurt or upset. I have feelings for him. I really do. 

"Hey Nic? You okay?" Liv noticed I was zoned out. Crap, she caught me.

"Uh...yeah, yeah. I'm good. Yeah." I answered. They way she's looking at me, tells me she can see right through my lie.

"Yeah, I'm not falling for Nic. Tell me the truth." I sighed heavily and decided to tell her the story of what I had seen last night.

"Wow. Why didn't you tell me you liked Mikey!!??!!" Liv said, very loudly I might add.

"Liv!! Get quiet. They might be able to hear us."

"Oh right, sorry. But seriously why didn't I already know this?"

"I don't know, I guess I just wasn't ready to tell anyone. I'm scared he might not like me back."

"Oh, baby, of course he would like you back. Who wouldn't? You're outgoing, fun, sassy, and drop dead gorgeous." I love my best friend!

"Awe thanks. But I guess you're right. I'll just try to get to know him and see how it works out."

"Go get yo man girl!!" Oh my lord. I can't do anything with her.

I just laughed quietly and walked upstairs to mine and Michael's room. I really need to shower. When I walked in, Mikey was on the bed. 

"Oh hey. I didn't know you were in here." I said kind of shyly.

"Yeah..I've just been thinking about some stuff." He said as he sat up and stretched. I didn't realize how good he looked shirtless. 

"Oh. I just came to take a shower and change. I'm going swimming afterwards. Would you mind joining me? That is if you want to." I said then quickly dropped my head blushing.
