"Let's see those cards!"
Rantaro smirked as he placed down a swap hands card onto the table. He pointed a finger to Shu, who only had three cards in his hand, and held out his other hand in waiting.
The Spryzen blader merely tsked as he was forced into exchanging his cards. This was the fourth time that someone used the swap hands card on him - mainly it was Daigo who did it.
Talk about bad luck! Way to go, thinking this was going to be an easy game to win at.
The only good thing about swapping hands was having Valt sitting next to him. Shu's reasoning of this being a good thing was for what the bluenette did... Valt would call out the cards Shu previously had in possession to keep whoever swapped handed with the Spryzen blader from winning.
Of course this action always caused a fight, but in the end everyone laughed it off.
This time however the Spryzen blader didn't feel as if there would be a fight. By now Valt was already nodding off from boredom, or at least what looked to be boredom. After all the position Valt was in did look like he was ready for something else to do.
The Valtryek bladers hands rested on the sides of his face, elbows on the table. A blank expression staring down at the seven cards in his lap.
Guess he's ready for this to be over. I wonder what he'd like to do once we rap up this game?
Looking at the cards he was traded for, Shu sighed. Yellow number cards flooded his hand. There were only five of them but they still weren't of much help. None of them could be used for defense. Not that he worried Valt would attack him but rather he worried Rantaro would use a reverse and wipe him out.
Valt glanced to Shu and then to Rantaro. His eyes sliding closed as he listened to the blonde call the next card to be a red 9.
Honcho, I'll get you back for that in just a moment... The bluenette yawned to himself.
Daigo placed his next card down and then turned to Valt. His eyes widening when the bluenette smirked at the cards in his hand.
"Honcho has a green 5 and a red skip. So... I'll just put down a wild and a yellow 9! Do me a favor and keep it off of those two color, will ya?"
Shu and Daigo looked to the bluenette in confusion. Both thinking on why he had waited so long to call out Rantaro's cards.
But then Shu looked at own cards and came to understand why Valt had waited.
The waiting was to prevent Daigo from ruining his plan to help Shu out. If Valt had called out Rantaro's cards right away then that would've caused Daigo to attack him with a card that could've prevent him from helping Shu.
"Thanks Valt." Shu whispered as he put down a yellow 8.
When he looked up he couldn't help but smirk. The look on the blonde's face was priceless. It was the kind of look that practically screamed "why did I swap hands in the first place!?"
"If any students would like some ice cream, please make your way over to the front of the school. A station has been set up with many different flavors for you all to enjoy." Principle Shinoda's voice spoke out loud from the head of the gym.
A protest that was about to come from Rantaro was quickly erased and instead turned into a joyful shout.
Uno cards were thrown to the table by the blonde and bluenette as they bolted out of the gym, leaving Shu and Daigo to collect the forgotten cards.
Silence loomed over the two as they gathered all cards into a stack on the table. It was an awkward silence to say the least. Neither really knew what to talk about other then the forgotten game of uno or of the ice cream being offered outside.
