Kensi had just been rescued from Afghanistan and was returning home. When Deeks came to see Kensi he saw the infamous Jack Simons. Jack turned to walk away, saw Deeks, and stopped in his tracks.
"You must be Deeks. I've heard a lot about you. While Kensi and I were captured she talked about you. How you were going to save her. She really believed in you," he said rubbing his wrist staring down at the ground.
"She's my everything. I don't know what I could do without her," Deeks replied looking at Kensi and thinking how he just wanted to take her home.
"DEEKS!" someone called from behind him.
"Yeah Sam?"
"Wheels up in 15. We have to go!"
"Okay. One sec!" Deeks said. He turned around to see Jack had walked away and was talking to Kensi again. He walked closer to hear what they were saying.
"Kensi. I want you to stay in Afghanistan with me. We can start over again. We could have a family together. Just like we planned. Please Kensi, PLEASE."
"Jack. I... I can't. I have a family now. I have my team I have-"
"She has me," said Deeks walked in giving Jack a death glare.
"Woah, back off. Who ever invited you into this conversation?" Jack said pushing Deeks back.
"Okay. Let put this straight. Kensi is an amazing girl and you left her. On Christmas. Do you know what Christmas is Jack? It's a time for joy. A time to celebrate with family and friends, but what did you do? All you did was cause pain and misery. Kensi doesn't need you anymore. She has a loving tea- Family that has been there for her more than you have ever been and she has me. I love her. She's the best thing that had ever happened to me and I'm determined to keep it that way. I'm never going to leave her like you did. So you leave Kensi alone," Deeks with a fiery glint in his eye stared down Jack until he looked away with his face downcast.
"I'm sorry. I was just hoping for a second chance," Jack looked defeated and turned to Kensi who had tears on the verge of falling out of her eyes, "I hope you're happy Kensi." Then he walked away.
Deeks stepped towards Kensi and pulled her into a hug. At first she flinched at his touch, but then melted into his arms.
"Deekss" she stepped back and looked at him and began to sob, "I thought I'd never see you guys again." She couldn't hold herself together and broke down. Deeks stepped in and pulled her into another hug.
"Shhhhh- it's gonna be okay. It's okay. Everything's gonna be alright. You're safe now I got you," he said stroking her and rubbing small circles into her back.
"I didn't know you care that much for me," she said finally after a few moments.
" I do. I'd do anything for you," He said placing a gentle kiss on her cheek and pulling her back into his embrace, "now lets get you home."
