I'm frozen.
I don't know what to do, so instinctively, I get up and rush to the window, slamming it shut and closing the curtains.
I can't believe this. Alex Ryder is my neighbour. Alex freaking Ryder is my new neighbour. Why does this have to happen to me?!
There are so many girls at my school who would kill to have Alex as their neighbour, yet I'm stuck with him.
I release a frustrated yell into my pillow hoping to release some of the extra stress that has just been added to my shoulders.
Well school should be fun tomorrow.

"Damn girl, what did the principle say yesterday?" Hannah said as we got our books out of our lockers.
"Eh, not much. Just to watch what I do in the future, yada yada yada," I replied, not particularly interested in this conversation.
"Lana, you really didn't have to stick up for me like that," Lizzie said, twiddling her thumbs and looking down at the floor.
"Liz, you know I won't let people treat you like dirt, either of you," I said looking between both of my best friends who were, all of a sudden, very quiet. "Besides," I continue, "the bitch had it coming," I said, shrugging my shoulders as if to make it seem like it was no big deal.
"I know," she mumbled quietly in return, before turning to head for her class.
After sharing a quick goodbye with Hannah, I head off for physics.
-|-|-|-
Physics is killing me right now. It's like forces this, energy that. I swear it's never ending.
Luckily, I don't share this class with Alex so it looks like I'm in the clear for any awkward conversations with him about last night, for now anyway.
I try to concentrate on what Miss Jacobs is saying but my mind keeps drifting off to last night. I hate that he saw me cry. I never cry in front of anyone. Fuck, I don't cry at all.
Surprisingly, physics seems to fly by and I'm headed to English, a class that I share with Hannah and Lizzie. But that means I have maths next, yay.
With Alex sitting directly behind me in that class he is pretty much unavoidable. Hopefully, I'll get through it and not have to hear his voice a lot.
------------------------------------------------------
Before I know it, English is over and I have to go to maths.
Due to my excessive worrying I am now late for math class. Great. Mr Harris is going to kill me.
By the time I get to class I'm at least five minutes late. I'm greeted with confused stares, no doubt because I'm pretty much never late so this is a very rare occurrence. I silently make my way to my seat, keeping my eyes firmly fixed on the floor as I walk.
I've barely made it to my seat when I hear Mr Harris yell, "Miss Fallon why are you so late?!"
Not having much time to answer I hastily replied, "Sorry Sir, lady problems."
He went silent for a moment, then replied, "Okay well don't let it happen again."
With that, I get my books out of my bag, ignoring Alex's attempts to get me to turn around to talk to him.
I swear this lesson is never ending. It feels like I've been here for eternity, though its probably only been half an hour.
Alex never stops kicking the leg of my chair or poking me in the back, trying to do everything, anything he can to get my attention.
As soon as the bell rings signalling the end of class, I quickly cram my books in my bag and make my way out of the classroom as fast as I can.
Before I'm even a quarter of the way to the cafeteria I feel a hand land on my arm and pull me to a deserted corner.
I swiftly turn around, only to find Alex standing before me. "What the fuck are you doing?" I whisper-yelled at him.
"What does it look like I'm doing? You've been avoiding me all day Lana, why were you crying last night? Talk to me," he said, seeming worried.
"I wasn't crying," I lied.
"Well that's not what it looked like," he replied, now getting more annoyed.
"Why do you care so much, huh?! We're not friends, why don't you just go back to your little popular group and ignore me like everyone else? What the hell do you want with me?" I yelled at him, now angry.
"Well I'm sorry for being concerned. I try to do something nice and you're treating me like this." Alex shouted back. We were now attracting quite a crowd but that didn't stop me from saying one last thing.
"Leave me alone Alex. I'm not going to be another one of the girls that the football guys try to lay for a bet again," I practically spat at him.
With that, I pushed my way through the crowd that had gathered. Not long after I heard Alex shout, "What are you looking at?! Show's over!"
The crowd that had previously been there had now scattered, all heading for the cafeteria for lunch.
I stormed away, fuming at Alex for trying to feign innocence. That he was only trying to be caring.
Yeah right.
