Alex's POV

I woke up to the sun shinning through the window blinds. I realized that I was still in Jake's arms, I tried to break out of his grip, but that only caused him to hold on tighter. The only thing I had control of was my head because he had my arms and torso wrapped around him and my legs were intertwined with his. I only had control of my head, I thought about it for about 2.5 seconds and then head butted his chest.

Nothing. Man he was a deep sleeper. I then proceeded to shake uncontrollably hoping he'd wake up. He did and asked if I was okay and I told him yes I just wanted to be able to have control of my own body. He chuckled

"Shh... let's just enjoy this" he told me as he held me closer.

That feeling of me wanting to vomit everywhere was back. Damn butterflies. That moment quickly went away when the door swung open as Lucy called out "BREAKFAST" Jake groaned, I could tell he was upset that Lucy just ruined the moment.

"Come on you two" Lucy said with a chuckle

"Yeah yeah give us a minute" Jake said annoyed

"Whatever" Lucy said as she ran down the hallway and down the stairs.

We laid in our same position for a while longer until my stomach began to growl, I could feel my cheeks heat up. Smooth Alex way to ruin the moment.

"Sounds like somebody is hungry." he said

"Uhm... yeah.." I awkwardly answered.

"Lets go get you some food then" he said as his grip on me loosened allowing me to have control of my body once again. I walked past a mirror and saw the dried eyeliner and mascara on my face.

"Holy hell..." I whispered.

"What?" he asked.

Without answering his question I booked it down the stairs and into my car. Lucky for me I packed all the utensils I needed for the day. I immediately fixed my makeup and brushed my hair out and walked back into the house and into the kitchen.

I sat down at the empty chair by Jake and began to eat the stack of pancakes that were placed on my plate. I smiled, but then my smile began to fade as I began to think that we wouldn't have the luxury like this anymore.

"So how did everyone sleep?" Logan asked.

"Good"  Lucy answered

"Yep I slept good too" Michael answered.

"Well, I slept fantastic" Jake answered

"Oh I'm sure you did Jake" Lucy said with sarcasm in her voice.

I could feel my cheeks heat up, great now everybody could see that I was blushing. I looked down just so I could hide my face, but it was too late. Logan had already saw my face and began to laugh.

"Yeah I'm sure Alex slept fantastic too" Logan said laughing

I could feel my face burning up even more if that was possible. I couldn't even answer him I was so embarrassed. I felt Jake's hand reach over and take mine in his. I felt a little reassurance with him holding my hand.

Later that day

We began gathering all the stuff we thought could be useful. I didn't want to leave this house, I felt like we would be safe here, but Jake made it clear that we needed to keep moving and to a place where there wouldn't be any bitters where would could start a life.

Honestly I saw no way of ever living a normal life. This was our life now. Running for our lives, never able to sleep in peace, and just always living in fear. It really started to sink in that I wasn't going to graduate with the people I grew up with. Hell, most of those people that I grew up with are probably dead...or even worse, one of them.
