Chapter two~Guard of the Lords

Malachi's p.o.v.

"Yes."

"Well your greatest wish came true! Yay?" I say tears forming in my eyes.

"H-how?"

"I'll tell you later." I tackle her in a hug and we end up on the floor in a very awkward position.

"Umm.... Can ya get off me Malachi?" She asks, face as red as fire. Her eye changes to pink.

"Shit. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry." I hop off of her.

"So. How are you alive again?" Her eye returns to the malachite colour.

"Well, after you left a woman named Aphmua found me along with Dante and two men named Laurence and Garroth and they managed to get me out of the castle. Then I was helping Zoey with potions and accidentally used one with a yaggrisi forest tree in it. It ate something and gave me a new body. Then nearly fifteen years ago mum, Aphmua adopted me along with Levin, Garroth and Laurence disappeared into the Irene dimension." I say.

"Oh... Malachi."

"Then we came back five years ago and only Dante, Kawaii~Chan, their newborn daughter Nekoette and several other old members of Phoenix Drop returned. Levin became the official Lord and I became second in command. Even though I was older we gave the position to Levin because he was more closely related to Mum."

"Oh. Well after I left you I got out once more but your castle had moved. I was beaten by the caretakers I ran away when I turned ten. Found a witch called Hyria who taught me how to use my magic and then returned to my old village a few weeks ago. But they found out about how powerful my magic is and so here I am."

"I had magic once. But when I became human I lost it." I say. Tears form in my eyes.

"I can still sense your aura. It's very powerful. You could still probably use your magic if you tried." She says. Rose grabs my hands. "Here lets at least try." She closes her eyes and a small breeze sends her hair whirling around her face. Suddenly my skin glows a light ghostly blue. Rose glows a rose gold colour. I feel my heartbeat speed up. I can feel Rose's fears and nightmares. I show her, her fears. Her eyes glow white and tears fall down. I stop.

"Shit. Sorry Rose. Shit. You ok?" Rose nods.

"Well at... least we know you still have your old magic." She says, her breathing rapid and heart rate up.

"Sorry. What did I make you..."

"You're disappearance. Never seeing my only friend again."

"Oh. Well... Rose. Do you want to start over. And do you want to live in Phoenix Drop?" I ask.

"Yeah. I would appreciate that." Rose says.

"Well let me show you around the village."

Rose p.o.v

Malachi's magic is dangerous. I need to protect him. If shadow knights, ethereal or anything else finds out he still has his powerful magic he'll be in danger. I need to make sure his power doesn't increase and no one finds out. At the moment we're walking around the town.

"Malachi. Do me a favour for your own safety." He nods. "Don't tell anyone you still have your magic. Because if someone dangerous finds out. You'll be in danger. Please." I say grabbing his hand.

"O-okay." He replies. "Anyway here's a spare house. Mine is down there. You can have this one if you want." The house is made out of jungle wood and marble with rose gold metal highlights.

"It's gorgeous." I say. "Malachi... who would I have to talk to about becoming a guard?" I ask. He gives me a blank stare.

"Why would you want to be a guard?"
