[SMEB/SONG KYUNG-HO]
After coach's encouraging words, I felt all fired up, ready to defeat SKT and make sure Sang-hyeok will remember my name. From the way he looked at me just now, it felt as if he couldn't care less about me, as if I was just another opponent to beat.
But when he smiled at Wang-ho, he was looking at him as if he was the most precious thing in the world.
Hyeokkie... You're supposed to save that stare for me and me only.
I felt my insides burn again but it only made my resolve stronger. I decided to grind my skills as soon as I reached the gaming house (who knew how I could suddenly be a pro at this game, but screw it, I'll just roll with this). I decided to start off with the tutorial mode, just to know the basics. I don't want to be depending on my instincts too much. They've helped me so far but I still need to know what's going on.
I felt like toddler playing with a toy for the first time, and couldn't help but giggle. I now know the basic mechanics. Q is my first skill, W my second, E my third, and finally R is my ultimate skill. I was having fun playing and killing the intro bots when a familiar voice called out again.
"Hyung? Why are you playing intro mode?"
I went red and turned around to see Hyuk-kyu staring at me with a confused expression. Poor alpaca looked lost. (I learnt that people call him "Alpaca" because of his love for Alpaca plushies.) I felt tempted to squish his cheeks.
"Eheh, just fooling around a little, Hyuk-kyu," I shrugged, smiling sheepishly. Hyuk-kyu looked even more worried for some reason. My smile went away. Wait. Did I say something wrong?
"Hyung, you shouldn't push yourself too far... Don't punish yourself just because we lost against SKT," Hyuk-kyu insisted.
I blinked. "No, Hyuk-kyu, you're misunderstanding..."
He wasn't listening. "I'm worried about you, hyung. You've been losing focus and getting distracted... And now you're suddenly playing with bots? Are you sure you're okay?" He furrowed his eyebrows and pressed his lips into a straight line.
I sighed, paused the game and went over to ruffle his fluffy hair. Poor kid. He probably wouldn't believe me if I told him that Sang-hyeok was dead and that I passed out in a hospital only to end up... here, wherever "here' was. Maybe this was just a dream? But dreams can't be this realistic, right? Ah, what am I even thinking right now? I shouldn't space out while my teammate is being seriously worried about me!
"I'm okay, Hyuk-kyu," I gave him a reassuring grin,"Just thought I could release some stress by fooling around with bots, that's it."
Hyuk-kyu gave me a small (cute) frown, and suddenly I was reminded of Sang-hyeok all over again. Aish...
These two cuties need to give me a break.
"Oi, Kyung-ho, what are you doing to our Alpaca, huh? What's with his expression?"
We both turned to see Score, Pawn and Mata glaring at me. Hyuk-kyu giggled a bit at how serious they looked.
An evil thought came into my mind. Hehe, maybe I should tease them. "Aish, this alpaca's just worried about his favorite hyung, that's all~" I said in a sing-song voice.
Mata, or Se-hyeong, looked offended. "Woah there, Kyung-ho. We all know that I'M his favorite hyung, right?" He turned to the other two, who looked equally displeased.
"Are you kidding me? Alpaca loves me the most!" Pawn slash Won-seok countered.
Dong-bin, or Score, didn't want to lose as well. "Oi, I always gank his lane, so he loves ME the most."
