I met him 5 years ago, which made me 11 years old and he was 12. After the years we started talking more and more until this year, sophomore year. I thought it was going to be the year he finally asked me out, but instead he turned into a jerk.
"Wait what?" Emily said confused as always.
"Oh my gosh Emily it's not hard to understand, okay I'm going to explain it one more time" Erin said chucking because this was the 5th time she's explaining it. "Alright this is how you do it.
I started to doze off when Erin was explaining how to do trigonometry, when my phone buzzed and I look down and my eyes trace over his name. Should I even give him another chance? Does he deserve it? He probably will just do it again? I look up and I see all my friends staring at me confused.
"Rebecca? did you hear what I said?" Madison asked
"No, I have other things on my mind" I snapped at them.
"Kevin?" Emily asked quietly.
"Yes, ugh he's urks me LIKE HE DOESNT GET TO DO THIS TO ME!!" I started to yell.
Mary Kate plopped in the seat next to me smiling. "#mychair, #triangle, #lololololololololololololol." She said making everyone at our lunch table laugh. "Hey becc, are you going to softball workouts?" She asked me.
"Yeah" I shook my head.
"Who wants to come get lunch with me?" Erin asked us.
"I will." Madison said while starting to get up.
"I'll come to!" Mary Kate jumped up, to exited for food. They all turned my way, waiting for an answer. I shook my head 'no' at them.
"We'll be right back!" Erin said excitedly.
I turn to Emily and Tiffany who are fangirling over some book or show, like they do everyday. They get too worked up over books, like their not real people there fictional. I decide to look at the text from him. I unlock my phone and click on messages. I glare at his name and all of these memories come flooding back.
*Flashback!* 4 years ago
"Hello I'm Jessie!" This brown haired girl came up to me.
"Hi I'm Rebecca" I might as well get to know the new girl. She moved from Pennsylvania and now she's here in Hampbridge, on my softball team.
"Your going to be my new best friend!" She said jumping up and down and wrapping her arms around me. I hugged her back when someone called her from across the field.
"Kevin! Walk faster I want you to meet my new best friend." Jessie said yelling at him. He ran up behind me and he wrapped his arms around my waist and yelled in my ear.
"HELLO I'M KEVIN!" he stretched out his arm for me to shake it. I shook his hand and I kept staring at him when I said
"Hi I'm Rebecca but you can call be Becc." It was the first time a boy made a blush.
* End of flashback*
I open the message and it says:
You won't understand how sorry I am right now. When you said how you slow danced with your dad and he said it was practice for our wedding I'm not gonna lie I teared up. I'm like beyond sorry right now and I know I fucked up and I have no idea how to fix this. I'm so fucking sorry Becc.
What the actual fuck? I write him a fucking novel and he just writes that! He should know how to fix this and he should try to fix it. Doesn't he want to be with me like I want to be with him.
"Becc...REBECCA!" Someone was yelling my name across the lunch room. I snap my head back to see who was calling me. It was that fucking slut, Christina. I snapped my head up and down to indicate 'sup' and she started heading this way.
Oh crap. Why would she come over here, we don't even get along even though we have been on the same softball team for years. Christina and I were actually friends in 8th grade but then she changed. When she started to date Chris, the guy who slept with the teacher the same time he was dating her, I stopped talking to her because she fucking knew he slept with the teacher and she didn't care. She didn't want her "reputation" to be ruined.
I turn back around to see Emily furry her eyebrows, to know that she was right behind me.
"Hey Becc, so I want you to know that I broke up with Chris! Well actually we're still friends with benefits!" Christina whispered the last part.
"That's great." I said sarcastically, it's a good thing she's to blond to pick up on it.
"Yeah that's not why I came over here. I wanted to be the person who told you before you found out from someone else-" I interrupted her because she was talking to damn long.
" Can you get on with it!" I snapped at her and she sat down in Mary Kate's seat, crossing her legs.
"Alright you don't have to be so rude! I should tell you that I'm talking to a new guy, your Kevin. Well I have to get back now." She slowly pulled the chair back and walked out but right before she did, she flicked her long blond hair in my face and laughed.
Did she just say MY KEVIN?! He couldn't be talking to her, we have been talking for years. Oh Kevin Wightman better watch out because he's going to know what revenge feels like.
