Chapter 1~

Melody's POV

I splashed around in the water giggling, loving the feeling of the water around me. I felt so at home. I try to do this every morning and far away from the shore so no one would ever be able to see me. Dad used to say that regular people weren't ready to know that merpeople exsist so it's best kept hidden.

And he died believing that one day the world would finally accept us or I would find someone to love me. Even with a tail.

That day has yet to come, heck I've yet to even have my first kiss. I know pathetic right? A 19-year-old who hasn't had her first kiss, but you've got to have hope. As I surfaced again I suddenly heard a cry for help.

A cry for help?

But nobody should be out this far. Against my better judgment I swam towards the voice, I was not going to let someone drown. Yet, I didn't see anybody.

"But I swear there was just a voice." I muttered to myself.

Just as I turned to leave I took one last look back and a head popped out of the water and back down.

Oh no!!

I acted fast and swam closer to the spot then dove. This person was sinking fast! I quickly grabbed them and swam up to the surface. Turning to get a look at their face I almost dropped them.

Actually him.

LOUIS TOMLINSON!!!

One of my idols is in my arms at this very moment. I think I'm going to faint.

NO! You can't you have to get this piece of perfect to the shore.

Flipping my tail I started to head for the nearest shore, occasionally looking at the boy who I had been admiring from my computer and my phone ever since I found out that they existed, and I just saved one of them from drowning. I must be dreaming, this can't be real. As soon as I reached the shore I pinched myself.

Ouch! Yep this isn't a dream!

Checking to see if he was still breathing - which he was - I noticed that his foot was swollen.

Sea urchin.

He may need to go to the hospital. Once again I drew my family emblem, this time on my tail, and my tail then proceeded to fade and my legs then seperated. Wiggling my toes I began to think.

What am I going to say when he wakes up? Hey, I saved you from drowning, by the way, I'm a mermaid and I love you!

No of course not! He'll think I'm a freak!

I thought long and hard about what I was going to say to him when he started to cough, signaling that he was waking up.
