Gabi watched as her sister, Desiree, walked from the parking lot to her school. Since she had to move, Dessy had to go to a new school. Luckily, she didn't have to repeat the fourth grade since she finished it and moved just in time.

Gabi smiled tentatively at the 5th-grade teacher, who returned her smile back. Mrs. Graver knew how much Gabi cared for her little sister so she promised to watch her carefully.

With a sigh, Gabi walked back to their small, remote and isolated home to get ready for her college class. This was her first day of class and she rather not be late. She couldn't let Bennett's money go to waste.

No matter how much she resented them.

The college was a difficult college to get into. Not only did every freshman and transfer have to undergo a 12-week class so that the administration can determine who deserves to be in and who doesn't, but they also have to wear a uniform as they do so.

For girls, it's skirts, pants, or both. For guys, it's just pants. Both had to wear a beige or white shirt with a tie. White socks with black shoes. IDs were included in order to get inside the school, which they mailed to anyone who wanted to attend the college. Anyone out of uniform would get detention immediately.

Gabi quickly changed into her uniform, double checking from time to time. Before running out the door, she grabbed her books and stuffed them in her bag. After double checking the door twice, she speed-walked to the bus stop.

As she sat on the bench, a girl came by and sat by her. Gabi glanced at her and noticed that she was wearing the same exact outfit as she was, but she was wearing pants instead of a skirt. She was holding a tape recorder and a small notebook. Gabi averted her eyes as she turned to look at Gabi, probably wondering why she was staring at her.

"You can take a picture if you want," the girl smirked. "I won't mind."

Gabi rolled her eyes before turning towards the girl. She had brown hair with light blue highlights. Her eyes were dark brown, yet it wasn't the boring type like Gabi's. Hers was filled with determination and wonder.

"No thanks," Gabi replied. "I'm good."

The girl tilted her head and raised her eyebrows. "You sure?"

Gabi raised her eyebrows. "Positively positive."

When she talked, Gabi noticed a tattoo on her neck. She wondered how much it hurt to do that and what the image even is.

"I see you staring at my neck now," the girl countered. She moved a bit closer to Gabi. "Are you sure you don't want that picture?"

The statement caught Gabi off-guard. Before she could even answer, the bus arrived. Gabi scurried inside, gave her ticket, and went all the way in the back, making sure to put her book bag as her seatmate.

The girl walked over to her, smiling as if she has caught her prey. "Don't want me to sit here with you?"

Gabi stared at her for a moment before finally getting the courage to speak to her again. "Nope."

The girl shrugged at her. "Well, I do." The girl moved Gabi's bag and sat right beside her. Gabi tried to think of a comeback but she shut her mouth instead and stared at the window.

"Hey," the girl called out. "Can you look at me for a second?"

Gabi closed her eyes and sighed before turning around. When she did, she realized she was a few inches away from the girl's face. She quickly moved her face and stared at the girl in shock. The girl started laughing hysterically before moving away. Some passengers looked at them curiously.
