the houses

here at metis, as you probably know already, we have houses for five different genres to make sure you're getting feedback from people just like you! the maximum amount of people in a house will be sixteen, so we can keep everything tidy and so it's more like a big family than a little community. also, for the first five people in each club, we will be accepting on a first come first serve basis (providing you fill in the form completely) but for the rest of the group, you will be judged on your aesthetic and writing ability (we're not that harsh, don't be alarmed).

EROS: the greek God of sexual attraction or romance. Eros is the son of Aphrodite and harnesses immense sexual power, and would spark love between both Gods and mortals, often illicitly. Those in the the House of Eros are the beloved ones who write novels that categorise into the romance genre.

TISIPHONE: the greek God who punished crimes of murder, and one of three Erinyes, who were female deities of vengeance and were sometimes referred to as infernal goddesses. Therefore, the House of Tisiphone is for those of you who write stories that contain Action or Adventure.

ANANKE: the personification of inevitability, compulsion and necessity, often marking the beginning of the cosmos, and she was seen as the most powerful dictator of fate and all circumstance. As such, those in the House of Ananke are those who, in your writing, embody what it means to be young, categorising you into Teen Fiction and Young Adult.

HECATE: the greek goddess of crossroads, ghosts, magic and necromancy, regarded as the mother of angels and the cosmic world soul. She was worshipped as a protective goddess, and often depicted as being triple bodied. Hecate is the personification of fantasy among mythology, and those in the House of Hecate write novels that fit most comfortably into Science Fiction and Fantasy.

IAPETUS: the god of mortality, and craftsmanship, along with being the personification of one of the pillars that held the heavens and earth apart. Those of you who fit into the House of Iapetus will be those who write Short Stories, embodying the art of craftsmanship into short and sweet works.
