"Mhggggg." I grumbled, still half asleep. "I hate Mondays...."
I breathed in the fresh early autumn air, trying to wake myself up as much as I could as I walked my way towards the front gate of the school building.
Just as I was about it enter the school's property, I was slammed to the ground, the light weight of a fimiliar female body sitting on my back, using me for a couch cushion.
I sighed as giggles arose from behind me.
"You know, Mondays really aren't that bad if you actually go to bed at a reasonable hour." The girl on top of me spoke. "What time did you end up passing out?"
I sighed again, suddenly realising how comfy the concrete I was laying on was.
"Can I just stay here and sleep instead of going to school?" I asked through a squished face.
I heard a distinct, "Nope!" From the other end and could tell that my defeater was shaking her head. "You gotta be here today! After all, today's the day when they're assigning our agreements!"
After a few moments of trying to process the words that had just come out of my friend's mouth, my head perked up in realization.
After blinking a few times to make sure I was really awake, I jolted upwards, knocking the body off of me with a solid swoop and a playful scream from the unknowing girl.
"What'd you have to do that for?! I know this is exciting, but you could have at least given me a warning!"
I laughed, taking in the sight of my best friend. Cassia had thick, soft, mildly wavy chestnut hair, and matching eyes to compliment her golden skin and gentle curves.
I, on the other hand, had chocolate colored hair blended with azure eyes and ivory skin against prominent curves.
"Well? Come on Sno, let's go!" Cassia etched my name as she bobbed up and down with anticipation.
"Ok, ok!" I gave in, allowing her to whisk me away into the building.
She grabbed my arm, dragging me off towards the auditorium, where the ceremony would take place.
When we located the wanted destination, we could already make out a few of the others who would also be getting their agreements this year.
The room seemed to be buzzing with energy from every corner as, what seemed like a million older teens, filed in and took their seats in anticipation.
After a few moments of scanning the room, we found a few empty seats towards the front and quickly claimed them.
Eventually, the room settled down as a tall, thin woman walked onto the stage.
"Good morning eligible students of Lemander High School. As I can tell, you all seem quite...enthusiast about your agreements."
Her voice was at an alto pitch and mildly husky, very professional sounding, but at the same time, forced.
I looked around the packed auditorium as the woman's voice trailed in the backround, her words blurring together in random orders. Who cared what she was saying? No one ever listened to the speeches they made at these things anyways.
After a quick scan of my surroundings, I spotted my best gay friend, Kai, going back and forth between looking at the ground and at the woman.
After starring at him long enough, he glanced my way and made eye contact with me, allowing us to exchange a cluster of funny faces back and forth.
Eventually, we both settled down, refocusing our attention on the woman just as she finished up her long speach.
"-that awaits you. Thank you."
