Sonic baby

Chapter 1

Shadow's POV

I made my into the alley looking for the source of the crying. I knew somewhere in this alley someone was crying and judging by the sound it was someone young. It was raining very hard. As I was walking I spot a poorly built shelter it was tiny and could barely fit a grown man. The crying was coming from inside it so I slowly raised the roof. When I looked inside I saw baby hedgehog Cub crying. It opened up it's eyes and they were pink and teary. I could see the babies ribs and it was filthy. It continued crying and I reached down to pick up the cub. It was so light and as I brought up it hid it's face in chest crying. The poor cub had been suffering and I was probably the first person to actually do anything about it. The cub hung onto my chest fur burying it's face in my chest fluff. I began to pet it trying to ease its pain.

I decided to take it with me knowing it would die in the alley. Despite the rain and the cold temperatures the cub found warmth in my chest fluff hiding within it still crying. People saw the cub as I past them and gave me weird looks. I kept walking until I came to the baby store. One of my friends who worked there, Kenny the hedgehog, a hedgehog with light purple fur, and wore black biker gloves and a biker jacket and boots walks up to me. "Woah? You didn't kidnap that cub did you?" Kenny said looking at it. "No, I found it and plan on taking it in." Kenny nodded. "Well Shadow, I suppose you need the stuff to care for the little guy." I nodded. "Take him home, I'll by the stuff for you, he needs rest and to be out of this mess." I looked at Kenny. "You sure man? It can be expensive." Kenny nodded. "Trust me, you are doing this child a favor, let me help you help him." I nodded. "Thanks Kenny, I'll owe you for this." He nodded and walked into the store and I began to walk home.

When I arrived home I immediately brought the cub into the bathroom for a bath. I turned on the warm water and put him in it. He was still crying but it eased a little. I washed out all the dirt and when I did I saw cuts on him which looked bad. I dried him off and got some medicine to put on them. I put band aids on them and then set cub on my bed. He kept crying but looked like he was suffering less. The medicine should help with the cuts and prevent them from becoming infected. The cub stayed on my soft bed and continued crying until Kenny arrived with all the stuff. I immediately put a diaper on the cub and dressed him a light blue baby body suit. I thanked Kenny and he left. Telling me he would come back later when the cub calmed down. I then got to work in the kitchen and prepared bottle of warm milk. I then picked up the cub and sat down with him in my rocking chair. He drank the milk while I slowly rocked him. His crying stopped for the first time since he got here. He finished he bottle of milk and fell asleep in my arms.

I moved him not his crib for him to sleep and then I called Kenny. Kenny answered his phone. "Shadow?" He asked. "Yep, it's me, I just wanted to call and say thanks." I told him. "Your welcome Shadow." He says. "I'll pay you back later, I don't have much money right now." I tell him. "Don't, you have that child to care for, save your money for him, pay me back by getting in touch with rouge." I looked confused. "Why?" I asked. "She is our friend, it's been awhile since we've last seen her ya know? Anyway Shadow it's getting late, take care of yourself." He then hangs up. I put down my phone and look in at the cub who was sleeping in his crib. I then go to my room and fall asleep.
