Chapter 3

Shadow's POV

We all sat in my living room drinking some tea I had made. Johnny then looked at the cub. "That cub, does he have a name?" I look at the cub."I haven't found one for him yet. Any suggestions?" I ask. Kenny then looks at him. "Roger? No! Uh... Allen?" Johnny looks at him. "I don't think either of those names suit the cub, it needs to be a unique name, one that stands out from others, one that says I am different." I look at Johnny. "What do you think?" Johnny looks at the cub who was now nuzzling my chest and sucking his thumb. "How about... Sonic?" Kenny nods. "I kinda like it." I nodded as well. I then reached down and petted the cub. He giggled and nuzzled me some more.

"Dang Shadow, he really likes you." Kenny said. I nodded and smiled. "He sure is cute, could I hold him?" Johnny asked. I then handed the cub over to Johnny. The cub looked at Johnny and then back at me making worried whines I insisting I take him back. "You should probably take him back Shadow, he doesn't seem to like me." Johnny said offering me the cub. "No, he needs to get used to other people, it's fine." I told him. The cub made a few more attempts to get back to me and then started to cry. Johnny wasn't sure what to do. "Pet him or something, give him attention." Johnny then begins to pet the cub. "There there friend, I won't harm you." The cub crying turns into sniffling. "Here Shadow, I think he is more comfortable with you." Johnny says handing me the cub.

Shortly after Johnny and Kenny left. It was just me and sonic now. I was holding him and playing patty cake with him. While we were playing the phone goes off. I put down sonic and answer it. "Who is this?" I ask. "I don't know if your friends have told you yet but I am offering a job, I hope you'll accept it, meet up by owl Creek bridge tomorrow at 8:30 am if you want the job, don't how up if you don't." The voice told me."Who is this? I want to know who I would be working for before I accept any jobs." I tell the person. "You can call me T for now, I hope to see you Shadow, you have the skills I am looking for." The person then hangs up.

I turn and look at Sonic, he is laying on the floor falling asleep. I pick him up and put him in his crib leaving him to his nap. I then go to my phone and call rouge remembering what kenny told me. "Hello?" She says. "Rouge, it's me shadow, I need a favor,could you maybe babysit Sonic, my cub." I ask. "Sure Shadow, when do you need me?" She asks. "Uh 7:00 am, just so I can over things with you before leaving." I tell her. "Alright Shadow, I will see you tomorrow." With that I hung up.
