Can't Confess

When I finished reading after pulling an all-nighter I now understood why the fragment was so important to him. The fragment is a part of Shad's relic. He needs it for his full power over the realms. I thought it over. I had to go to Hyria to take the relic from Elena.

"Vylad, Raven I'm going out again. Thanks for the shelter!" I shouted as I was walking out. Right when I was about to get out of the cave Vylad grabbed my wrist.

"And where are you going exactly?" Vltava asked.

"I'm going to the enchanted forest. Why do you ask?"

"I wanna go with you."

"You know how I feel like when I have unnecessary companions with me."

"Look, Alicia, you don't have to slow down for me I'll just catch up. Please take me with you. I just wanna keep you safe. Plus you're leaving after a day of reuniting so I wanna get to know you more."

I sighed. "Fine! I'll give you 5 minutes to pack and once you're done, immediately report to the docks"

He nodded. During those 5 minutes I went to go buy some food supplies. When I was walking to the docks I had 3 minutes left and I bumped into Travis.

"So you're gonna steal a relic from a descendant?" Travis said in an angry tone.

"Tch, don't you have an ear for everything."  I scoffed "Yes I am going to be stealing a relic but it's reasonable as to why."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah I know but she's the only living descendant of Shad."

"It's for her own good. She's just a child."

Travis looked down in defeat. "Just be careful of your majiks. It's very strong."

"Of course. Oh and please, don't tell anyone of what I'm about to do to Aleena because it-"

"Don't worry my lips are sealed" Travis said before dramatically bowing.

I ran to the docks and to my surprise, Vylad was already there. 'He must really want to go with me' I thought.

~~~Time Skipeu to middle of the sea~~~

During the ride so far Vylad has been staying very close to me physically. It's probably because he doesn't know the sailors like how I do.

"OI! YOU! WITH THE GREEN SCARF! GET OVER HERE!" The captain shouted.

Vylad gave me a frightful look. "Vylad it'll be okay. He's just gonna be asking some questions and leave you alone." I said trying to comfort him.

Vylad's POV ( YAS FINALLY🔮👅🔮)

"Yes captain. You summoned me." I said formally.

"Alright I've got a few questions to ask you. Are you related to Alicia?" Captain asked.

"Eh? No."

"Hmm okay then that only leads to one thing only. Do you like Alicia?"

I blushed at the question because of course I did, but I didn't want to admit it to him since the outcome would either be him telling Alicia that I like her, him making fun of me, or his going to beat me up like the protective guardian his is. "Uhh..ummm... well... I mean... uhhhh." Was all I could say.

"Awww that's adorable. You do like her don't you?" He chuckled heartily "Heh, don't worry I won't tell her." He winked right after.

I just looked at the wood below me in embarrassment.

"What do you like about her?"

"Oh my divine! Where do I start? Well I love the way she's always able to stand up for herself, the way she's so independent, the way she's so headstrong, but stubborn at times. Ooh and also the way her hair flows in the wind, and the way eyes are so brown, and when she's reading books she starts to smirk which leads onto a toothy grin that transitions to a melodic laugh."

"Wow, well how're you gonna confess?"

"Uhh well I'm not."

"Wait. What!? Why!?" The captain exclaimed.

"Because in our younger years I would tease her a lot and she always had the tolerance to not get mad and be the bigger person. However one day, I only teased her once and it was one of my regular teases too, but she just bursts into tears. Jeez I remember it so vividly."

~~~Flashback~~~

3rd POV

It was a snowy day in Okasis. Vylad and Alicia were picking frosted leaves until Alicia slipped on the snow again. Vylad laughed and pointed.

"Vylad you're so mean. You never support me in anything!"

"Well how could I? You're too heavy!"

Alicia bursted into tears, but it was silent. When Vylad turned around he saw the cold tears stream down her cheeks.

"Alicia! Are you okay? I didn't mean it. It only a joke." Vylad said while he started to put his arms around her.

Alicia whacked his arms off. "Go away Vylad! I don't want to talk, hear, or even see you!"

"Alicia I'm sorry! Please go back to the cheerful Alicia!" Vylad apologized trying once again to hug her.

Instead of whacking his arms off she ran all the way back home in tears. Vylad tried to run after her but lost her in the crowd. He felt very guilty, but he didn't know why she cried so much. The day after, she was back to being joyous and whenever Vylad tried to go back to that event, Alicia would always say that it was because of that joke or just change the subject.

"And so if she does accept my feelings and returns it, I'm afraid I might hurt her again. I don't want to see her cry again. It's as if each tear were a part of my heart being lost into a dark abyss." I finished.

"Wow you don't like her at all! You love her and yet if you ever get the chance to go after her you reject the idea completely. Now that is just sad right there." Captain said then gasped "Its forbidden love."

"Heh what a romantic you are." I laughed a little.

"Well now you can go back to you dearly beloved. Oh wait before you go what's your name?"

"It's Vylad." I walked toward Alicia with a pink lightly dusted on my cheeks.

"So how'd it go?" Alicia curiously asked.

"We at first it was nerve wracking, but the more questions he asked the more comfortable I got."

Alicia just smiled and looked towards the ocean. I'm starting to wonder what she read in the books that made her leave so quickly.
