"Are you excited for the amusement park tomorrow?"
"Well, I have no idea what to base it off of." I think I'd seen a couple of horror movies in amusement parks, didn't Spider-Man go to Coney Island a lot too?
"I'm sure you're going to love it." He said.
"I just want candy."
"There's a lot more than just candy there that you can eat." I smiled at the thought. We had met up to walk to the theater. Alain and Nino were going to meet us there. "Did you bring money?"
"Why would I?"
"To buy popcorn."
"Oh, I went to the bakery and got some stuff. Do you like macaroons?" I asked him.
"You're smuggling food into the theater?"
"Yeah, why not?"
"Won't they search your bag?"
"They won't mind. I've done this before, have you?"
"No,"
"Well you are rich..."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You've never had a problem with high prices, I'd say you were lucky."
"Being rich isn't always a blessing."
"Yeah, that's what I've heard from the movies."
"Well, its true."
"An astonishing revelation." I appreciated these conversations that we had. They made me feel normal, the kind that I thought of at least.
"Hey (F/N)! We're over here!" I waved to Alain and came up to her. She was waiting in line for the ticket booth with Nino.
"Is this assigned seating or first come first serve?"
"I believe it's the latter."
"You sound like an experienced movie-goer." Nino said. It wasn't that though, I just remember my mother never having a full grasp on the amount of money she had.
We entered the interior of the main hall. There were two paths that lead to a number of theaters. Adrien went in line for the snacks.
"You don't like macaroons?"
"I love them, but can you buy ice cream at the bakery?"
"No, but I can go to the store and buy a pint." He went up to the line and got the chocolate covered ice cream bits. "Have fun eating your over priced sugar."
"Who said I'm eating it alone?"
"The one who pays gets to eat it."
"What if I can't eat it all?"
"You're wasting perfectly acceptable food, that should be a felony." He blew a piece of hair from his forehead.
"I'm going to share them with you."
"Me? What about Alain and Nino?"
"If they want some they can have some."
"Well I don't want any." I said crossing my arms. He shouldn't just be buying me food like this, it's terrible impulse buying. Something I'd never been able to do.
"You sure?" He waved the carton in my face.
"No, I'm not."
"I'll wait for you to change your mind." He said.
"The movie's going to start in a couple minutes!" Nino exclaimed. He held a huge bag of popcorn.
"You're going to eat that alone?" I questioned.
"No, he's sharing." Adrien gave me a look.
"There isn't enough of yours to share." He rolled his eyes at me. We all followed an eager Nino into a theater. We'd gotten seats at the very top and both Nino and Alain were tired by the time we reached the top.
I was skipping stairs the whole time and Adrien was trailing behind me.
"Why are you guys so tired?" I questioned.
"We don't do sports."
"I don't." I said.
"I do fencing."
"Jeez, okay Mr. Perfect." He poked my shoulder and went past me to take a seat next to Nino. I sat down next to Alain, I was closest to the stairs and there was an empty chair next to me.
"You didn't buy anything?"
"I bought stuff from the bakery, and water from home." She rolled her eyes.
"I didn't think you'd be this cheap."
"This isn't cheap...this is...clever." She sighed. I pulled my macaroons out and her judging attitude melted away.
"Can I have some?"
"Oh, you want some of my cheap macaroons." Her eyes narrowed. I smiled as I handed her one. The lights began dimming
"I am so excited!" I exclaimed.
"You're so nerdy." Alain said through a mouthful of macaroon. I smiled even though no one could see.
As we were watching someone walked past me blocking my view of the screen. I could make out that it was Adrien rushing down the stairs. Probably the bathroom. I shrugged it off and began poking Alain for popcorn.
"I thought this was an action movie." I whispered aloud at Alain, the two main characters were staring at each other longingly.
"I thought so too," We both turned to Nino.
"I heard good things about it." I sighed, when I leaned back in my seat I noticed the chair next to me occupied. I guessed it to be Adrien and didn't turn my head. They extended a hand and took a handful of popcorn.
The two people on the screen came closer to each other, one of them spoke, then the other one. They were about to kiss-
"(F/N)!" I turned to the entrance below and saw Adrien breathing heavily. If he was down there then who had taken my food.
Crap.
"Move!" The movie still played on the screen but no one was watching. I turned and saw a hooded figure sitting next to me.
They reached a hand out and I heard Alain scream. They wrapped their fingers around my neck, what was happening?
Who was this?
As they tightened their grip Adrien came up and pulled the hood off the figure. My eyes widened.
Why was he here?
Why did he follow me?
Why did they want to hurt me?
Adrien ripped him off the chair and he took me with him. I banged my head on the movie seat and I heard a loud thud as the figure fell down the stairs.
I got on my knees gripping the seat ahead of me tightly.
"Are you okay?" It was Adrien, he gripped my shoulders tightly. I was dizzy, I felt nauseous, why did this happen around him? Why did it happen when I wanted to be happy, with friends? He held me steady and I saw Marion creeping up.
Of course he hadn't been affected by the fall.
"No..." I turned Adrien's head and he let go of me to protect the two of us. I fell back and banged my head on my seat a second time.
I had to wake up, I had to. Or this would never end, I had to deal with this. I couldn't run, I couldn't run because they would find me.
They would find me and hurt me.
