The next five days passed by in a blur. Caspian had left the state, which left me and the other heads of department to take up a whole lot of responsibility. I headed the marketing area of Octa all over the world. It made me a bit scared, because so much responsibility had never been put on me before.

My dad felt it was pointless to let a girl handle a powerful company like his, so he let Reginald learn it all. But now, I head a department in a company way more powerful than his.

'Take that, bitch.' I thought smugly. My moment of smugness lasted for a few seconds. My dad's hand flying towards my face was the next thing I saw.

I decided not to let it get to me. I had moved out and I hoped I would not be seeing him in a long time.

Kimberly had been busy with Callum. Again. The only human contact I had had in the last five days was with Brandon and Leo. Bran kept me company at work and got lunch for me. We had been spending a lot of time together and I got to know a lot about him.

He had a good sense of humor and always had a jovial expression on his face.

Right now, Yakult was sitting on my lap as I fondled him while we watched Marco Polo.

I heard a knock at my door and groaned. I decided to sit down and hoped whoever-it-was would get the hint and leave. But the knocks continued.

Whining, I stood up and opened the door with a scowl on my face but the sight which greeted me had me opening my eyes in shock.

Kimberly was slumped on my doorpost with tears in her eyes and a disheveled appearance. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes before drooping to the floor. I hurriedly dragged her body inside before hurriedly closing the door.

"Kimberly, stand up." I desperately wanted to know what was going on with her. She let out a loud cry before laying her back down on the floor.

Yakult stood by the sides and watched our exchange. Kimberly looked at him before beckoning him over. He bounded over to her before trying to lick her tears.

I figured she was not going to stand up, so I lay down on the floor with her and took both of them in my arms. I let her calm down before speaking.

"What--," I was about asking before she beat me to it.

"He cheated. Again. Had been for a while. She's pregnant. Came over and demanded to see him. He wasn't home so she told me all. Turns out they've been screwing around for months. God, I was so embarrassed." I knew she was not going to speak anymore so I didn't ask for more details.

I wanted to punch his stupid Russian face in. That fucker. How dare he? Who did he think he was?

"I'm sorry Kimberly. He is a dick. Any guy who takes you for granted is not worth it. God, how dare he?" I ranted.

"I loved him so much. What did I do to deserve this." She asked quietly.

"Now I have nowhere to go. I can't live there anymore. What am I going to do." She was on the verge of tears again. She moved in with him after their first breakup.

"You can stay with me until you get a new apartment. It's no bother really. Unless you don't want to, then you have any other option. I really don't want to..." She cut me off with a huge hug and a loud thank you in my ears.

I was going to go get her belongings from his place later in the evening because she didn't want to see his face.

She spent the rest of the day rewatching Marco Polo, while I worked. After two hours, I shut down my laptop and decided to start on dinner. I wanted to make some spaghetti bolognese and backed alaska for dessert. Kim loved it, and I was going to stop at nothing to make her happy.

I went to work immediately. Baked alaska was a very complicated dessert and would take a while to prepare. I parboiled the pasta before getting started on the sauce.

Kimberly and I dug in as soon as I finished cooking.

"This is so good. I want to live here forever." She moaned before wiping her plate clean.

I laughed at her antics and continued eating my food. I froze when I heard my phone ring. I stood up and picked it up from the island. The caller's name made me smile.

Caspian.

I took a deep breath before answering the call.

"Hey you." He sounded sexier over the phone than in person.

"Hi." I said timidly. Kimberly stood in front of me wearing a shit-eating grin and patted me on the back before urging me to go on.

"How are you," he asked.

"I'm fine. You?"

"I'm okay."

"Are you sure? You sound tired." I was strangely concerned.

"I'm better now that I've heard your voice." I could practically hear his grin over the line.

"Erm." I didn't know what to say, so I said the first thing that came tumbling out. "Thank you."

A rich laugh was heard over the line. His laugh was beautiful. It was the first time I had heard him laugh that way.

"God, you are so adorable." He said still laughing. I could imagine him shaking with laughter.

"Stop it."

"Okay, okay. I'll let you go to sleep now. I just wanted to hear your voice." He said.

"Bye." I was pretty sure my face was the color of a tomato already.

"Bye, bébé."

I turned to face an overly excited Kimberly who engulfed me in a hug before I could get a word out. She pulled back and wiggled her eyebrows.

"My baby has a boyfriend!" She shrieked.

"Shut up, we aren't dating. We've kissed just once." I couldn't help blushing. I was sure I was red all over.

"You dirty bitch, there is no need to lie." She gave me a playful scowl as she chastised me.

"But I'm not lying." I insisted.

"Oh please."

"I'm serious!"

"Yeah, sure. I believe you." She said sarcastically.

I shook my head at her before retiring to bed.

The next morning a dozen Cherry parfait roses at my doorstep. I picked up the card and read it.

Bébé,

You said you preferred white roses to red ones. Why not have something that has both?

                     Caspian,
                           Vos beau.
