(Deaf!Jeremy time baby!)
{Written on phone}
Jeremy shivered as he walked out of school, keeping his head down and eyes focused. It started out as a warm day, so he hadn't felt the need to bring a jumper with him. But as the day went on, it started to get colder and colder.

Jeremy's eyes widened as he felt himself being shoved violently to the ground. He fell over like a log, and tried to ignore the stinging feeling in his eyes as he stood up.
He bolted down the hallway, begging to get out of there as fast as possible, but he crashed into someone he hadn't seen.

They both fell to the floor and groaned. Jeremy hid his eyes from sight as he tried to stand-but fell back down, clutching his leg in pain. Out the corner of his eyes, he saw the kid stand up.

He felt their presence looming over him as he tried to curl into himself as much as physically possible. He felt a tap on his shoulder and his head swivelled up towards the other kid. "Hey." Jeremy read his lips, the boy offering a hand to him.
Jeremy took his hand cautiously and stood up, trying not to put pressure onto his aching leg.

Jeremy reached into his back pocket and grabbed out his phone. He went and opened up notes before typing something down quickly. He flipped his phone around to the curly haired boy and let him read the text.

Hey! I'm so sorry I wasn't watching where I was going!! I'm Jeremy, I'm really sorry, it was an accident.;;

The other boy nodded with a smile and started speaking really quickly. Jeremy's eyes widened with fear, he quickly scrambled back to his phone and wrote another thing down before holding it out for the kid to see.

Ahhh I'm sorry I should have mentioned before, I'm deaf!; if you wouldn't mind repeating that.. on here? If you don't want to I understand! Typing is hard work, and I'm not really worth the effort so..;;

The kid frowned when he read that last part of the text. He slowly took Jeremy's phone and started typing. He returned the phone and stood with a smile as Jeremy read it.

Hey, no sweat man! Aha I should have figured that out when you typed instead of speaking! I'm Michael, and (again) it's all good. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going either. You seem like a pretty cool dude, though I don't know where you got the thought of not being worth a text convo?? Sorry but I have to get going or my parents will kill me, but here's my number! xxxx-xxx-xxx Text me~

Jeremy smiled brightly at his screen and looked up to see Michael walking away, shooting finger-guns at him. Jeremy laughed and gave Michael a little wave. No one had ever done that for Jeremy, when he mentioned being deaf, people would often turn their heads, or walk off with a huff.

But Michael, who he didn't even know, had stopped and taken the time to reply- to type to Jeremy. A kid he didn't even know!

He barely took notice of the pain in his leg as he started walking home, a contagious smile on his face that wouldn't go away.

Jeremy got home and signed his dad nonchalantly. He had been deaf ever since he was born, so his dad took the time to learn- and teach them both sign language. It was a simple greeting and his dad returned it before going back to doing something on his laptop.

This wasn't a rare occurrence, Jeremy's dad was often on his laptop, doing work related things. Although he didn't wear pants when at home, he was a great dad in Jeremy's eyes.
He tried to keep his work limited from 6am (when he left for work) to 3pm (when he got home), but sometimes he would be busy until 4-5 o'clock. Leaving Jeremy to play by himself until his dad was done.
