On Lisbon
As she was reading a book while drinking a glass of red wine, Teresa asked herself why she didn't accept to eat with her co-workers. She would have spent a nice evening, instead of being bored while waiting for a text. She had to put herself together, because if just a text had made her refuse a dinner, how things would evaluate? Was she going to be unsociable until she had an answer? And what if she never got one? She jumped when she felt her phone vibrating. She closed her eyes while unlocking it and when she opened them her disappointment was huge: it was a text summarizing her mobile plan. She wanted to throw her phone though the room but didn't. She breathed to contain her anger. She put some music and started to dance. Then, she collapsed on her couch and fell asleep. At around 5:00 AM her phone rang:
-Lisbon, she said with a tired voice. Yes...How? Where? I'm on my way.
A new victim had been found. When she arrived, she was led near the body of a young woman, holding in her hand a lock of hair, next to a kiosk. Lisbon closed her eyes; the hypothesis of a serial killer was confirmed. Cho was already there and gave his boss all the information he had.
-Emily Bluttond, she's just turned 18. Killed the same way as Alicia. Everything matches the previous murder. It's almost certain that these two girls have been killed by the same man.
-But why does he kill girls who just turned 18? Don't answer Cho, I'm thinking out loud. No sexual assault?
-No.
They spent a few more minutes on the crime scene and then went back to the CBI. Van Pelt and Rigsby were waiting for them. It was 6:34 AM and they knew it would be a big day. As soon as they got to the headquarters they began to work. Rigsby filled the white board with pictures, a map of the park where the bodies were found, zooms on the locks of hair. The two girls were blond and had turned 18 the day before they died. Two parameters. Cho and Van Pelt went around the crime scene, hoping to find witnesses or clues. Lisbon established the chronology of the murders. They took place between 11:00 PM and 2:00 AM. 6 days had passed between the two, but the culprit had destroyed three of their evidence during those days: one night, he broke into the CBI to burn the evidence and steal Van Pelt's computer where all the data were stored, and he had killed a witness. Patrick Jane had not responded Teresa's message so she called him, but he didn't answer.
Hello, you are calling Patrick Jane. Know that I know exactly why you are calling me. I will call you back as soon as I can to check if I'm right.
Hello Mister Jane. It is urgent that you tell me if you accept to help us. We are dealing with a serial killer. He killed again. Still no clue. Thanks for calling me back. Agent Lisbon.
"I know exactly why you are calling me". Lisbon smiled. Maybe it was non sense, but she found him extraordinary.
She asked plainclothes officers to stand near every kiosk of the park, telling them that it was really important take they paid attention 6 days later, during the night. She also asked for the CBI cameras to be checked, and she managed to hide a few of them, only telling her team and her supervisor Minelli. She searched the name of the girls who were close to turn 18 and went warn them personally. She took huge precautions: they were on their guard.
