Axel's POV

I got out of the shower and wrapped the towel around my waist, and instead of getting dressed I sat on my bed and thought about my life. It was the night of my birthday and my parents threw a huge party even though I said not to. I didn't find my mate and I was kind of thankful I wasn't ready for a mate not after everything that's happened with James. 

My shoulder's slumped even though we broke up I was still holding onto the fact that he might like me. I wished for him to come to my birthday party or at least message me a happy birthday but that never happened. There was a knock on my door and I sighed before getting up.

Usually people would get dressed or at least make sure they were decent before they opened the door but I didn't care. I reached for the door knob but before I opened it I was it with a strong smell of peppermint and eucalyptus it was a weird combination but it smelled amazing. I froze and Keiran was not pleased with my hesitation. 

<What are you waiting for stupid human! Our mate is waiting for us> he growled.

<I-I'm not ready for a mate Keiran> I told him skeptically.

<Well I'am so open the door> he said.

I sighed and opened the door I was hit by my mate's scent and I bit back a moan. I prayed that I wouldn't get a boner since I only have a towel around my waist and that'll be awkward. I looked up at my mate and froze...it was James but not only that he was crying. "James" I whispered without another word I pulled him into my room and locked the door behind him. 

I sat him on my bed and sat next to him "Axel I just needed to come see you b-before" he choked out a sob and wiped his tears. 

"Shh James, calm down a bit then you can explain" I told him gently. I placed my hand on his face and shivered when sparks stared to explode everywhere. 

James calmed down enough to talk "Axel I'm moving to Italy with my family. My father got involved with the mafia and now we have to move. We don't even speak Italian heck we're not even Italian were Mexican" he sniffled. 

Tears welled in my eyes but I blinked them back quickly "What time are you leaving" I asked him.

"Our plane leaves at 6 in the morning tomorrow" he told me. 

"Why" I cried out my voice cracked a little. James looked away from me and stared blankly at the wall -tears still streaming down his face- "You can't leave me because I love you" I told him. 

James froze "Really" he asked finally looking at me I nodded "I love you too Axel" he whispered. A sob left his lips and he looked away "I guess it's better that we broke up right" he said his voice cracking "I-It makes this easier" he placed his head in his hands and his shoulders shook with every sob. 

I frowned <He can't leave till we are fully mated> Keiran said sadly in my head.

<Keiran, shut up> I scolded. I felt Keiran sneak into the back of my head I can't imagine how he feels about loosing his mate right after finding them.
