Lily
A few weeks later
I get my phone out and text Tom.
Hey. Lil x
Hey. U okay? Tom
Im better now. Thanks. Lil x
Good. Tom x
Hey, lil?
Yea Tom?
Do you want to meet up?
Yea sure. Where?
In the song bird park
Okay. Be there in five
Wait? Songbird park? Does he mean as a date or just as friends? I decide to put my pink vest top and blue ripped jeans on. I slip into a pair of soft red pumps. I climb out the window and walk to the park.

I walk over to Tom, who is by a clearing towards the back of the park. 'hey, Tom' I smile. It is then that I notice that this part of the park is different. The grass is a nicer green, and there's these kind of twinkling bedroom door curtains covering up the entrance to the little clearing. When you walk through said curtains, there are colourful bean bags around and twinkling lights hanging around. 'wow. Its beautiful' I gasp. 'I come here when I want to think' he explains, a look of happiness in his eyes. 'now, whats up with you?' he asks. 'i-im not ready to say' I stutter. He nods in understandment. I hug him. 'thank you for showing me this' i mumble into his chest. We hear a ping. 'let me just get that' I say. I check my phone
Where are you? Get your ass back here now, stop trying to sneak off or else.
My hands start shaking, and I quickly put my phone away. 'I-I have to go' I stutter. 'I'll text you later' I promise then run off

A couple days later
Tom
I haven't heard off Lily in 3 days. Hopefully she'll be at school today. I drag myself out of bed and I chuckle a grey top and some trousers. I slip into a pair of trainers. I drag myself down to the school. I wait by the entrance for Lily and Caitlin but Caitlin arrives, by herself. 'wheres Lily?' I ask her. 'I dont know. I havent heard off her in 3 days. I thought she'd have talked to you' she says sadly. Ok somethings definitely happened. She wouldnt not talk to Caitlin, her best friend. 'I'm going to go to her House and see whats going on' I decide. 'I'll text you telling you whats happened'

Few hours later
I nock at the door. As I wait, I see movement in the window. A man about 7ft tall answers. 'what?' he slurs. 'hi, Im Tom. I'm a friend of your daughter's. I havent seen her in a few days and would like to see if shes okay. Could I speak to her?' I say politely. 'no. Shes not here. Now piss off' he slams the door in my face. I text Caitlin.
Shes in the House. Her mysterious disapearance has something to do with her dad who seems like an ass
I look up at the window. Suddenly I see movement. I see Lily crying. I climb the wall up to her room and sneak in the window. 'tom! What are you doing here?' she cries. 'why havent you been answering my texts or calls in the past 3 days?' I ask. 'dad took my phone off me' I say. 'and school?' i ask. 'dad said i need to learn a lesson. I'm not allowed out of my room. Not even for food or drink' she says sadly. 'if he sees you in here he'll kill the pair of us' she cries. 'dont worry, he won't' i say, stroking her face. 'its gonna be alright' I tell her. I hold her hand and she hugs me. 'dont leave me on my own' she sighs. 'I wont' We hear footsteps. 'quick! Hide!' she whisper-shouts. I hide inside her cupboard. Her dad comes bursting in through the door. 'why was there a boy at my door?' he shouts. He grabs her hair and chucks her against the bed. 'i dont know' she says. 'Lilith Diaz, you are just like your mother. Youre a little brat. You should have gone with her' He grabs her by the back of her neck, lifts her up and starts hitting her. She starts to cry. 'you are a pathetic little rat. I only keep you around so I dont have to do anything. Little rat. Go to hell. Youre a burden, a mistake. You shouldnt be allowed to breathe let alone live' he snarls then chucks her back down. He walks out, laughing. We wait a few minutes then I walk out of the cupboard. I go over to her and hug her. 'ignore him. Youre perfect. I'm glad you came here and not with your mom' I say quietly. 'youre coming to mine' i decide. 'I can't' she whispers. 'you cant stay here, Lily! It's not right!' I cry. 'let me get some clothes then' she says. She grabs a backpack and chucks some clothes in it. We climb out the window and run to mine.

We're sitting on the sofa in the living room at my house, and she's hugging me. I put my arm around her. 'its gonna be okay now' I whisper. She smiles weakly. I stroke her hair. 'hey! Dont mess up my Hair!' she shouts. 'I mean - i-erm-sorry' she stutter then tenses up. 'lily, its gonna be fine. I'm not gonna hurt you i promise. No one is going to hurt you, not while im around' i promise her. Mom walks in. 'so, how come youre staying here then? I'm fine with it, really I am, I just want to know' mom asks. 'well, ms-' lily starts but mom cuts her off. 'please, call me Mildred' she smiles. 'okay. Well, the reason is' she takes a deep breath. 'I cant stay at home' 'why not?' mom asks. 'unless you dont want to talk about it. Then you dont have to say' she smiles. I'd rather not talk about it, if thats okay with you' lily asks. Mom nods. 'thats fine, darling. Stay here as long as you want' she smiles. She walks out and Lily buries her face into my chest. My older brother, Jack, and my younger sister, Harriett, walk in. 'this is my friend from school, Lily' i say defensively. 'lily, this is my 18 yr old brother Jack and my 14 yr old sister Harriett' i introduce. 'hi' she smiles. 'shes a bit shy' i explain. I look at Lily, and I see a look in her eye. A look of fear. she leans her head against my shoulder and closes her eyes. Within minutes, She's fast asleep. I lift her head up onto a cushion, lay her down and drag Jack into the garden. 'I know what youre thinking but its not like that this time.' I say to him. 'how?' he asks. 'what?' is my response. 'do you still love her?' he asks me. 'yes. I do. She means everything to me. Shes amazing, kind, stunning and I feel very protective of her' I respond. 'Jack, I do love her' alway 'you really love me?' a small voice whispers. I spins round and see Lily standing there.
