Trisha's P.O.V.

He finally let me out. Ugh. I swear I was almost a prisoner to him. I know he was only trying to protect me, he was my father after all.

One would think having the devil as a father would be torture, but quite honestly, it was amazing.

He really did love me, he was just overprotective. Who could blame him? Especially after my baby sister died to the hand of the Unicorn King?

People always saw him as someone cruel and evil, but really he wasn't. He was misunderstood. Being his daughter, people thought the same of me. I hated that. I was always painted to be the bad guy. Well actually girl, but you get the picture. It hurt but by now I was used to it.

Actually, having people fear me was strangely blissful. I tried to avoid liking the power surge I felt every time someone cowered away from me, but it was hard.

I talked to my father about my struggles and he always helped me to calm down, but even he had no idea how to stop those feelings.

I shook my head to let my thoughts go as I walked up the hill to the meadow. I knew father would be mad when he found out I had come here. It was a strict rule of his to never come close to the meadow. This was where Elaina had been killed by The King.

It had been six years since then, I was ten at the time and Elaina was only a year old. We still grieved for her, she had had a beautiful life ahead.

My father swore he would kill The King's son in revenge. If my memory serves correctly, his name was Luc, and his twenty-first birthday was fast approaching. In a little under two months my father would destroy him.

I felt bad about it, I knew it was wrong. The problem was that the Unicorns had always been and always would be our greatest enemies and anything we could do to take them out would help.

I only wish my father would kill him graciously rather than by torture. No persuasion could sway my father on that though.

Ugh, again my mind was swamping me. I shook my head again as I reached the flat of the hill. A huge meadow spread before me, a whole world almost.

I felt it call me, the wind beckoning me to walk further in. I closed my eyes, drew in a big breath, and followed.

I stopped as I felt the wind die, leaving an unnatural warmth in it's place. I slowly opened my eyes but covered them quickly when they were stabbed with an immense light.

"I am so so sorry! Are you hurt?" an almost heavenly voice asked sounding panicked.

"I-'m a-alright, I-I guess," I stuttered and looked up.

I shrieked when I saw who it was. Luca.

I shoved him away from me and ran. All my senses begged me to return to him which made no sense whatsoever. I ran until I reached the entrance to my father's layer. I quickly pricked my thumb and let the blood drip onto a scanner. The door rolled open when it was satisfied that I was welcome here and I ran inside. The door shut abruptly behind me and I breathed a sigh of relief.

I still felt a strong pull to go running for Luc but I knew it was a trap. I was smarter than he thought, I would never fall for that.

I laughed breathlessly and collapsed against the door.

Was debating about writing more but decided not to. I'm too tired lol. This is my first try at fantasy so hope you enjoy.
