First Lesson Of The Year (Ryan POV)
It's a bit awkward being greeted by Teachers... Especially when it's the first day back to School, anyway we have to face the awkwardness but within a couple of seconds we were in front of the science lab... When we walk inside we see HEAPS of desks! I counted them all and there were 34!!! But I'm not sure that's actually how many their is in our class this year. Anyway I hope that I get to sit next to at least Zack and a new student, but we are told to stand around the room and wait quietly for the next instructions.
Then the Principle comes in and says this, "Welcome to your first day at school for this year!" Some people cheer, some are completely silent and others are chatting with there friends... Then he says, "This is the Class that has the most students that are new so make sure that we make them feel welcomed at all times..." Some people laugh which is a bit silly because it isn't funny... Anyway we are instructed to sit with anyone of our choice but once I'm about to sit down the Principle says,
"Come to me!!!" I think about what will happen but before I know it, he tells Zack to come too!!! When both Zack and I stand in front of him, it is surprisingly quiet! This is awkward, especially in front of the whole class... He then finally speaks, "You will have to sit with the students ok?" Me and Zack slowly look at each other then I then turn to the principle and say,
"Sure Mr Darkwood" which is a bit strange saying out aloud... Zack then asks in a begging tone,
"Can I sit next to Ryan and a new stu-"
"NO Zack I want you to have a great start to this term..." Zack then turns back and then sits next to the other Ryan and Josh. So I sit next to Jacob and Isaiah, when I'm about to say hello, straight away Jacob (the new kid) says,
"That's a bit embarrassing..." That makes me quite surprised because people that are new to schools are usually nervous not acting like they've been there for about there whole life! So I think about what I'm about to say very carefully but I know that the lesson will start soon... So then I reply,
"Yes that was embarrassing, anyway what subjects do you like?" Wow that was probably the worst proper start to a conversation because most people say they don't enjoy any subject... But surprisingly he says this,
"I like History and English quite a lot, but I don't get the best grades..." I think Jacob might actually be a good friend because he likes school and it sounds like he is well behaved... I then turn to Isaiah on my left but he was talking to another student already...
Anyway I haven't told you my worst enemy in school, his name is Matt. If he got in trouble for something he DID do, he would ALWAYS point out on ME! I don't know why he always does it on me but it's probably because that I'm known as the 'Nerd'. I wish that I could explain more but the lesson has started...
This lesson won't be as educational because it's our first time back, we have Mrs Simpson as our Teacher and the first thing she says is,
"Welcome everyone, my name is Mrs Simpson... Today this lesson isn't actually science even though we're in the science lab at the moment... We're going to be doing a piece of writing that tells us all about your holiday." It doesn't look that fun and it's sound like it's going to be easy, until she said, "You will have to use as much words as possible that I right on the board..." Ok, now it's a little better. The words that are on the board are:
)Pencil
)Cake
)Fridge
)Nice
)Pie
)Park
)True
There not really good words that fit in to my Holiday but I'll just give it a try... In the Holidays our family didn't do much but we did have a nice time. We enjoyed the time at the park and my Mom cooked a delicious pie that we gulped down within a flick of a pencil. On the first day in the Holidays, I walked over to the fridge and there was a Cricket nest in the freezer! (True) So overall my family had a decent Holiday... THE ENDUmm... I think that was terrible, (to use to the school holidays). I hand my sheet over to Mrs Simpson and Jacob has finished as well!!! The Teacher is impressed by Jacobs work and she says,
"You have some talent there boy..." Wow Jacob and me could be best buddies for the rest of the year! When Mrs Simpson collects all the sheets she then says, "Well done, that is harder than it looks..." Some people laugh again and some people agree.
We are then instructed to meet all the new students and ask them all of the questions on a new sheet of paper that the Teacher is handing out. I feel like we're in Primary again because we did the exact same thing when I was in year 4!!! I first talk to Jacob again and ask them the questions...
"What's your favourite colour???"
"Don't really have one..."
"How old are you???"
"I'm 14..."
"Wher-" The Teacher suddenly yells out,
"Whose replaced the sheets and made us do what the year 4's are meant to be doing!!!!!!!" Oh that's why it seemed so easy... But then I ask,
"Mrs Simpson, it wasn't me but do you know if the other task was year 4 work as well???" She replies,
"Did it seem easy as well???" The whole class along with me said
"YES..." So then Mrs Simpson went into the room where the new year 4's were (along with their Teacher) and their Teacher apparently fainted because the work seemed so hard for the kids!!!
Well, well, well what a great start to this year!!! (It wasn't) For the rest of the lesson as the consequence for no one giving up to it, the whole class had to sit quietly until the next learning session started... 😑😑😑 Best start to school ever!!! (Not)
