12:00 in the morning.
This was it.
Hadlee could leave.
She crawled to the door, dried tears at the corner of her eyes. Her hand twisted the door handle, but the door kept shut.
This didn't make any sense. Thirteen days. Thirteen days here. In this depressing world. Why couldn't she leave? Had she forgotten something?
She observed the engravings on the door.
Tears.
She wiped her eyes, a fresh tear now on the tip of her finger. The tear dropped underneath an eye on the door, and her surroundings left.

She was covered in darkness.

Jace was the first to hear the alarms.
He quickly alerted everyone, which the other eleven Elements took by surprise.

Jace telling everyone about the alarms? Scary.

"IT IS THE THIRTEENTH DAY! AND WHAT HAPPENS EVERY THIRTEEN DAYS?"

"One of us dies," Whispered Nixton.

"THAT IS RIGHT! I HOPE THAT YOU ARE READY TO FIGHT SOME DARKNESS! TA-TA YA LITTLE SHITS!"
