Chapter 2

Marks POV

I take her into my house and close the door then flick on the lights. I set her down on the couch and smile then go to my fridge. I cook her a few pizza rolls in the microwave then bring them to her in the living room.

I hand them to her and she seemed so happy to get pizza rolls, she looked up to me "Are these for me?" "Of course, I made 'em for you" Her smile gets even bigger and she starts eating quickly

I smile and watch her eat and I notice she keeps that little dog with her no matter what, probably something really special to her

After she finished she leaned back on the couch "So what's your name?" I ask making her sit up "I'm Bella!" She then holds out the dog "And this is my puppy Spots! He's my best friend!" I chuckle at how cute she is "Hi Bella, I'm Mark. An hi Spots" I say waving to the toy making her giggle "Hi Mark! Spots says 'Hi' too" My God she is so adorable! How could anyone have done such a horrible thing to her

My thoughts are interrupted when she lets out a big soft yawn and rubbed her eye "Are you ready for bed?" She nods and reaches for me so I pick her up and take her to the guest room across the hall from my room. I flick on the lights and lay her in the bed

I tuck her in under the covers "I'll be right across the hall if you need me, ok?" She nods "Alright do you want a story or are you good?" She looks at me with a confused face "A story?" "Ya know, a bed time story to help you sleep and give you better dreams" "Ok!" She agreed happily, I guess she's never had anyone read her a bed time story

I get out my phone and google 'The Jack and the Beanstalk' and read it to her it didn't take long for her to fall asleep

I smile at how peaceful she is then leave her be leaving the door open and hallway lights on since I don't have a night light she can use.

But as much as I hate to say it she needs to go back to her parents or I'll be arrested or I could call the cops on her parents but if they knew I took her here then once again, I'd be arrested. I'll have to come up with a plan to get her parents in trouble so she'll be safe

Bella's POV

I woke up in the bed and it was still dark, I look around the bed and quickly grab Spots into a hug. I look around and I don't see Mark "Mark!?" I call out

He said to get him if I need him so I get out of the bed and walk across the hall to the door that's opened a little "Mark?" I whisper. He turns over towards me "Hmm? Do you need me Bella?" I don't wanna go back in there, I don't wanna be alone "C-can I sleep with you?" I'm scared that he'll yell. My mommy and Daddy always screamed at me when I asked "Of course, get over here"

I smile, surprised he let me and run over to his bed crawling on from the side. I lay down next to him and cuddle into his side "Night Bella" "Night Mark" and I fell back asleep with Mark

~Time Skip~

Marks POV

The next morning I woke up before her and made her a big breakfast. I cooked her some pancakes and bacon so when I realized it was close to when school starts I go wake her up "Bella? Time to get up, I made you some yummy food" She opens her eyes slowly and yawns "Mark?" "Yup, come on, you and Spots have some food ready downstairs"

When she wakes up we go downstairs and she eats her food happy as can be "Thank you Mr.Mark!" I smile at how she addressed me "You're welcome Miss Bella, now come on let's get you to school" 

I walk her to school since I don't have a car seat for her to use and I don't want her hurt

I take her into the school and she shows me to her classroom

The door opened to a woman that has medium blonde hair and brown eyes, she's dressed in a cute simple space themed dress. I look down at Bella and smile "Hi Miss Nelson!" She says happily "Hi Bella! Did you have a good morning?" Bella noded "Mark made me pancakes and bacon! He made some for Spots too!" I look back to her "Did you now?" I smile blushing a bit "Yeah, it wasn't a big deal"

I get down and hug Bella and she hugs me tightly, she puts Spots to my cheek and makes a kissing sound making me laugh "Have fun Bella" "I will! An you'll be here to pick me up right?" I freeze, I can't tell her no but I don't want to get in trouble but I also don't want her to get hurt at home but- fuck it "Yup! I'll be here at 12 to pick you up" "Promise?" "Promise" She smiles and runs inside the room

I stand back up and she's looking at me "Uh, Hi Miss Nelson, I'm Mark" "I can tell, are you her dad?" I shake my head no "No ma'am, I'm not related to her" "Then why'd you have her?" "I was walking around last night because I was stressed when I saw her at the park. She said her parents didn't feed her and her stomach hurt so badly she was crying. I took her home and fed her since it was really late and let her sleep at my place. Then this morning I made her food and brought her here"

"Hmm, so kidnapping?" I frown "No, she wanted to come with me and I'm scared what her parents will do to her" "Well either way, you helped and she seemed happy but don't pick her up today or I'll call her parents"

"Hey, I made a promise to that little girl, and I intend to keep it. Go ahead and call her parents but I'll be calling the cops on them for child abuse" She glares at me "Get away from my classroom" "Alright, but I'll see you at 12. I just want to make her happy"

I walk away and go back home, this time while making videos anytime I got really stressed her smile passed through my mind and I was calmer
