I began to cry. I didn't know why Shawn would have ever listened to Shadow in the first place. He didn't trust anyone very easily...maybe she had threatened him. I didn't know.
He walked toward me, dagger still in hand. I tried to summon one of my sparks but to no avail. I couldn't even use my magic. Shadow had made me so weak from choking me. I didn't know what to do. I looked to my friends and mom, giving them a teary smile. I knew that I wouldn't survive this.
A man shall go on a quest to rescue his most cherished one. He will leave riddles when she chooses to go, as well. Three other cherished ones shall accompany her on her quest, and one will change her life. On a long journey, they will go and many dangers they will face, but the woman's magic will not be strong enough to save everyone. Someone will be lost forever, even at the hands of their own cherished one. But what was lost, can finally be found by another who shall be loved.
I was going to be lost forever and Shawn, one of my cherished ones. I didn't know who would even be brave or strong enough to save me. I loved everyone in the room; obviously except Shadow; but I didn't think anyone would even try. I knew they loved me, too. Just maybe not enough.
I began to think of the prophecy that my father had written about...
A man shall go on a quest to rescue his most cherished one. Obviously, Shawn when he thought he was going to find a way for us to be together, forever. Honestly creepy now that I think about it.
He will leave riddles when she chooses to go, as well. He did leave clues for me. He knew that I would come to find him.
Three other cherished ones shall accompany her on her quest, and one will change her life. Ari, Rose, and Matt came with me, willingly. Matt changed my feelings on love, altogether.
On a long journey they will go and many dangers they will face, but the woman's magic will not be strong enough to save everyone. We almost got killed multiple times and we went all the way across the country. My magic was too weak to get everyone free again.
Someone will be lost forever, even at the hands of their own cherished one. Someone in the room, most likely Shawn, is going to kill me.
But what was lost can finally be found by another who shall be loved. I honestly don't know...
"Go on and do it. Doing this will save my friends and everyone I love. I know it. That's what the prophecy said. Go on and get it over with," I whispered, sadly.
Shawn and Shadow cracked the same evil smile as he proceeded to hold the dagger up.
"Wait, make my mother do it," began Shadow. "Poor Emerald, you didn't know your mother was possessed this whole time. I know, plot twist. Why do you think she let you go on this trip so easily? Ha! I implanted the spirit of my mother." Mom walked toward me. Shadow had to have been lying. She had to have been.
As my mom was let out of her cage, she transformed into a woman with an evil aura. She basically looked like an older version of Shadow, but with golden hair and grey eyes. Her aura was burning me, just like Shadow's did.
"You're possessing my actual mom. Just let them go, you evil things! I'll do anything!" I pleaded. "Even die."
I heard gasps all around me. Even the three evil people in front of me had their mouths agape. "Mom" just smirked at me and stole the dagger from Shawn's hands, forcefully. I didn't know why this was happening to me. I was just a normal girl with weird dreams. Nothing special.
"Why are you doing this? Why am I so special?" I questioned, salty tears still running down my face.
"It's a good thing you don't know. It will make this a lot easier!" she laughed, evilly. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. I looked down to see the dagger in my stomach with my red blood drizzling across it. I smiled at the evil auras radiating off of them.
"You have no idea what you've just d-done...My friends are free, so you-you'd better leave now, before they get to you," I smiled while blood was dripping out of my mouth. I was so weak, I couldn't even believe I was still able to talk.
Shadow, Shawn and "mom" started to glow, but before they left, they said a phrase that scared me more than anything;
"See you in Hell."
Next thing I knew, I was being held in Matt's arms. Rose, Ari and him were crying as they looked at my dying body. I began to become pale as blood still managed to pour out my body. Matt saw this and gently took out the dagger out of my abdomen and threw it yards away.
"Why would you do that for us? Sacrifice yourself for us?" asked Rose through her hiccupping sobs. I smiled as blood still dripped from my mouth.
"Because...I...l-love you," I whispered in a weak voice. I tried my best to keep my eyes open, but my friends and I knew I was going to die then and there. I kept a weak smile on my face. I knew exactly what I wanted my last words to be; my favorite story...
"There was a young b-boy who lived in E-england... He decided t-that he didn't want to g-grow up... One night... h-he ran away and met a magical fairy...who ta-taught him to...fly...he rode the winds to magical pl-place where we would never h-have to...grow up..." I began.
"This place was called Neverland. And the boy had many adventures there. Fighting pirates, parading with Indians and telling stories to beautiful mermaids," continued Rose.
"And his-his name was...P-peter Pan..."
"The great king of Neverland," smiled Matt. I smiled back as I closed my eyes, took my last breath.
And died for the ones that I truly loved...
***
That's a sad ending, don't you think? Well, that's not the end anyway. After I closed my eyes, I immediately opened them back up to see flames all around me. I was deathly afraid of hot flames and burning flesh. That was all I could sense; heat, fire, burning...death all around me.
I knew exactly where I was...
"Welcome to Hell...Emerald Kennedy..."
