I don't know how long I waited, I don't care. I had finally gave up.

I feel blank inside.

I desperately longed to escape the cage and reach freedom. I want to enter the Selection, have someone to love, and have a sense of what royalty feels like. Instead of serving, I want to be felt served for one day; is that too much to ask for?

I once read in a book that some dreams come true, while some don't. I think that my dream of royalty and a loving prince, may not come true after all. I've risked, I've fought, I've tried and yet, I break.

I lay on my back in the middle of the cage, eyes focused on the ceiling, letting my thoughts drift. My food sat pushed against the bars turning cold, I have absolutely no appetite. Letting a dream go is hard, it hurts. Letting go is just hard in general. You never know what will happen, unless you see for yourself.

"Give her a try, Adam." A sweet, motherly voice pleaded.

I sat up, leaned against the bars, listening attentively. It seemed as if they were about to turn a corner, into the hallway of the locked cages.

"I brought her here because of the bargain, the money. I didn't bring her here because of some stupid love," he roared.

It sounded as if he had been hurt before, by the love, he declared as stupid.

"She may be the one." she cooed, refusing to give up.

"What did I say?" He asked impatiently.

She didn't reply, and silence fell once more. Suddenly, another voice joined the conversation.

"You have a visitor," a gentleman-like voice announced, he sounded like Lumière. The speaker was probably Lumière, the dim-lighted hallway lighten up by his presence. Unless all moving-candels sounded like Lumière, I am sure that it is him.

"Oh really?" Adam asked with curiosity. The candle didn't only lightened the room, but brought Adam's temper down. His voice sounded raspy, like a beast. The thought of Adam being a beast made me think that I am crazy and stupid.

The Lumière-like-candle answered immediately, "Yes. She said she had an offer for you and wanted to speak to her daughter."

My heart raced. Then, my fear turned into anger. My fist was clinched tight and my face flushed. These dungeons are keeping a mother away from her daughter. In my case, the bars are keeping me away from my dream; they made me give up.

"Tell her that I will be there soon," Adam said.

I heard the hops of the candle, leaving to give an answer to the woman.

"Mrs. Pott, can you check on the girl?" Adam whispered. However, his whisper turned to be the volume of a normal speaking voice.

"Of course," she replied.

My heart skipped a beat. There on the grey bricked wall, were the shadows of Adam. He wasn't human, I was right. He had broad shoulders, fangs and is covered in hair. I wrapped my arms around my legs, trying to pacify myself.

"Yes, I assure you that he is a Beast," she confirmed. Like Ma, she knew what I was thinking, "But, not Beast within."

I was the girl Adam asked to check on.

I looked in her direction, resulting a shriek; she is not human either. In front of me, stood a teapot who looked at me kindly. I gave a nervous smile.

"How was your lunch?" She inquired.

"It was delicious, thank you," I lied.

"That's great." she replied. Her eyes lingered at my lunch, clearly untouched.

I laughed nervously, I am died caught. She joined along, happy that we are having a conversation. Mrs. Pott feels like a mother to me, she had this warm vibe with her. As perfect as it is, she is like a tea pot. The tea she holds inside brings satisfaction and heals the broken.

I heard footsteps coming to my cage, assuming they belonged to the Beast's. I didn't want to cause a commotion, I should try to be calm. I'll give him a chance, he may even have the kindest heart held within.

I heard someone clear their throat, trying to catch my attention. It didn't sound like Adam, who else could it be?

I opened my mouth, looking out of my cage at the person. My jaw dropped open, as my eyes budged. I was about to compliment Mrs. Pott.

Instead, I asked in utter disbelief "Ma?"
