"Nonsense." Adam roared, as I backed a few steps. He revealed his stained-yellow teeth. I gave a weak smile, the corners of my lips twitching.

"She must go now." Adam's finger pointed straight at me. I felt my body tense, yet shiver.

"Yess sirr" I wavered, looking straight into his eyes. He glared at me, power and anger held in his eyes.

"Adam." Mrs. Potts voice broke through. Adam's shoulder eased, as he turned to face her. "May you think this through when you've calmed down?" She asked.

"No. Why is she here?" He questioned. I stared at the floor, unwilling to speak.

"You see," she paused. "Just be kind and see where it goes." She said in a motherly voice to the grown beast.

A long silent pause lingered, resulting me to lift up my head. Adam stayed in the same position as last seen, but his eyes were off in space. He focused on nothing in particular, although his eyes lingered on my face. Somehow, it felt welcoming. It made me smile that we shared similarities in drifting off the world and entering another. His hairy body and torn clothes didn't make him seem as scary as before. Nevertheless, he is intimidating. In any second, his sharp teeth and horns can tear me into shreds. I shivered at the thought.

I turned to Mrs. Potts. She studied Adam's face as she waiting impatiently for an answer. Even a mother trained for patience is losing it. Had she gone too far, treating a beast like a child who needs pacification? Her eyes wanted to know the answer. The seconds elongated, whilst we waited for Adam's decision.

I turned my focus to Adam. My eyes followed his horns, that swirled into a sharp point. His horns looked just like the rams' on the mountains.

My thoughts drifted to the day of the mountain trip. Pa brought Ma and me to the mountains when I was in pre-school. I remembered small vivid moments, which I constantly replayed. Memories were limited, yet precious.

I giggly skipped to the mountain steps.

"Pa, look!" I pointed to the top of the mountain.

"Sara, my princess." He answered, eyes melting a little.

"The mountain is not a princess. I'm not a mountain." I crossed my arms, giving a little attitude.

" No, you silly goof!" He shouted, running towards me. My stubby little legs quickly bolted. My chubby arms waved wildly in the air, as I screamed. Despite my effort, my legs put in, Pa's long legs soon enough caught up. He carried me up as I shook my legs recklessly.

"Got you!" He exclaimed. A series of laughter followed.

"Got you!" He repeated, as my laughter loudened. A steady, controlled laughter joined.

"Ha! You two!" Ma smiled, whilst shaking her head. She wasn't disappointed, her eyes glistened.

"Let's attack her," I whispered to Pa.

Pa's eyes sparkled with mischief, as he made her way to Ma. I followed him."We are lions." I added.

"Roar!" I growled, bending my hands into a lion's sharp claws.

"Grrrr-"

"-Ahhh" I screamed, making my way to Ma's legs. My hands gripped tight on her legs, while I pretended to dig my teeth into her flesh.

"Ahh!" Ma screamed as the victim.

"Enough!" She exclaimed, a happy tone lingering in the air. Pa and I laughed at her exclaim. She pointed to the peak of the mountain, where a faint sight of a house stood, "we have to climb up this mountain."
