Slamming my hand down upon my alarm clock, I groaned as I pulled the sheets off my body before standing up. Picking up my phone I quickly looked through my notifications I received from last night. "Boring" I said incoherently to myself. Eventually after 10 minutes of aimlessly scrolling and tapping the screen, I put my phone down and made my way downstairs. "Hey, morning Ells" my roommate, Sandra called. I sighed as a reply, hoping it would be enough. "Did you get much rest?" She attempted to start a conversation. Walking over to the fridge, I pulled out fresh blueberries and sat down on the high stool. While both of us were munching on the blueberries, I decided to finally reply. "Around 6 hours the most". Her expressionless face turned to impressed when my answer was said. "It's a start I guess" she mumbled.

After a moment of dead silence my voice broke. "Can't actually process that a year ago today, at this time 7:37 am, Gabriel was still alive.." looking up from the pot of blueberries Sandra tried to comfort me but didn't really help.
"Ells, try and not think about it, you will only get more upset. Instead, think about what you are going to buy when we go shopping after you finish work today" she said as her voice got excited and preppy towards the end. Swollowing the blueberry I had been munching on, I agreed to her suggestion and made my way to the island counter. Picking up my box of cigarettes, I took out two. One for me and one for her. Passing over the cigarette and the lighter I offered. In refusal she shook her head and walked out of the room.

Turning on my phone again, I contemplated to see if anyone had seen my recent post, and decided to remember me.

"That bitch" I muttered as I threw my phone down on the bed again. After that I mimicked case scenarios in my head of many different ways that could have gone. After a while I think, Sandra began to get worried as to why I was acting like that and dared to question my actions. "are you practicing for a dance I don't know about or do I have to book you into the mental hospital?" She joked. Pulling a half smile, half disgusted face at her, I continued to mock Jasmines attitude. "sorry but nobody caaaress. Ooh sorry, pitty me. If you don't care why did you even bother to comment on my post". Turning to face the door, Sandra stood there, crossed armed leaning against the door waiting for me to finish. As the seconds of silence went by she questioned me. "Are you finished?" Staring at her blankly I uttered two more words before being finished with my rant. "that COW!"
Rolling her eyes, Sandra made her way downstairs again only to be by myself again.

Alone.

The hours of the day seemed to be the slowest of my life.. nothing interesting had happened until I received a message from Kyle. And let's just say.. it didn't end well..

"Fake" I scoffed as I put my phone back into my pocket before walking to the pedestrian crossing. Many people began to gather and wait till it was our turn to cross the streets. Not taking any notice of the people surrounding me, I walked right into someone's side. Soft and delicate skin, brushing off eachother body frame. Brown eyes flashing in my viewing. Veins exploding with energy and electricity and uncontrollable butterflies in my stomach wouldn't stop making me weak. My breathing hitched so I bit my tongue. He mumbled "sorry" as he looked down upon me. Looking up at him, the sun cast a hazy golden glow upon his face causing the, 'not-so-best-view' to be tampered with. "It's okay" I replied as I continued to stare at him as he walked away, disappearing into the sea of people behind me.

As far as social media went that day, Jasmine thought I was looking for attention and did her damnedest to make the day a living hell. At the back of my mind, the scene of me and that tall stranger, rang and spun around until my head hurt..

Who was he?

"I have to find out" I spoke out. As I said this, Sandra just happened to be walking past my door, stopping abruptly, she backed up and poked her head out at the corner. "Do I sense a new boy on the block?" She questioned, with excitement and hope in her voice. Shaking my head quickly, I mumbled, "no" with a little chuckle at the end..

"Just somebody I will never see again in my life"
