Beau: "And where are you going, looking this sexy?" a rough, deep voice grumbles playfully in your ear, as you feel strong, toned arms, wrapping around your waist from behind. "I’m going out for drinks" you tell Beau, smiling. "With who?" "Cara" you answer truthfully. You see his confident smirk turn into a almost fearful expression in the reflection of the mirror. "Cara…… Porter?" he asks tentatively. "Yeah" you chuckle, putting in earrings. "Why are you going out with Cara Porter?" he persists, his arms dropping from your body. He looks like he’s seen a ghost, a ghost of girlfriend’s past. "Why not? She’s fun" you retort carefree and nonchalant. "Oh. Ok" he replies carefully. He knows better than to tell you who you can and cannot be friends with. He also isn’t the kind of guy to do that, no matter how uncomfortable the idea of his ex being out with you makes him. "So, you’re just going out for drinks? Nothing more?" he investigates some more. "Yes! Stop being so paranoid, we’ll be fine" you chuckle, finding secret pleasure in watching Beau squirm. "You guys don’t like…. talk about me, right?" "Grow up Beau, not everything revolves around you" you tell him, giving his face a gentle, assuring slap, before heading out. You love and trust him, but he doesn’t have to know you and Cara are about to indulge on a bitching session on all things you find annoying about Beau Brooks…….

Daniel: "Daniel, you need to go. NOW!" you urge him for the tenth time. "Why are you kicking me out? I thought your friends like me?" he pouts, finding every reason possible to stay. "Daniel, unless you’ve magically grown a vagina, you are not invited to attend a girl’s night. Go home, I’ll call you tomorrow" you promise him, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. Before he can disappear though, the doorbell rings. "Go answer it, I need to fix my hair real quick" you instruct him, rushing to the bathroom to manage your independently minded hair. You faintly hear the door open and familiar voices drifting through the hall. "Oh. Hey Daniel" you hear one voice in particular, that makes you cringe a little. You wanted to avoid this. "Madison, what are you doing here?" you hear Daniel’s gruff voice ask. "(Y/n) invited me. She didn’t say you would be here…." she replies, confused and a little irritated. "Hey, hey! Hi guys, sorry I was held up! Sophie, Olivia, Madison, why don’t you come in. Daniel was just about to leave" you lead the girls in, gesturing to the living room, where the three make themselves at home. "Why is she here?” Daniel hisses, still in the hall. “We’re friends!” you tell him honestly. “Why?” he asks with such incredibility, it almost makes you laugh. “She is a lovely girl! You ended on good terms, right?” “Yeah….” “So, what’s the problem? “Nothing I guess” “Ok, good. I’ll see you tomorrow then” you grin, basically shoving him out the door. Poor Daniel. Ah well, no time to ponder about boys, it’s girl’s night!

Jai: "No! Shut up! That did not actually happen!" you squeal into the phone, bursting into hysterical laughter that attracts the attention of your boyfriend, Jai. He pokes his head around the corner, curiously eyeing you. "Uhuh…. What? Oh my god no! How typical!" you continue to splutter. Jai comes closer, sitting down opposite you on your bed, resting his face in his hands, looking up at you with big puppy dog eyes. "Who is that?" he mouths, but you wave him off. He starts prodding his finger into your knee, until you finally roll your eyes and say "Listen, I have to go, Jai is being needy. Yup. Yeah, you too. Bye babe" you hang up the phone. "So? Who was it?" he keeps asking. "Ariana" you reply coolly. Jai’s jaw clenches in tension, his eyes narrowing. "Why are you talking to Ariana?" he inquires suspiciously. "We were friends before your break up you know, a boy isn’t going to come between us!" you say to him. "So that was actually Ariana on the phone? You told her I was needy!" he whines, crossing his arms. "Aw, don’t worry, it’s all a ploy so she won’t want you back" you joke sarcastically, but smile at him anyway, planting a reassuring kiss on his soft and plump lips.

James: "Why can’t you just be friends with someone else? This is so awkward!" James exclaims in vain, throwing his hands up. You are in the middle of a disagreement about you and his ex girlfriend, Veronica, still keeping in contact. "James, she is a very nice girl! I’m not going to stop talking to her just because it suits you better!" you defend your friendship with Vero. "She is evil, (y/n)! You should be on MY side!" he contradicts you. "There are no ‘sides’, James. I can love you AND be buddies with Veronica. It’s not like i’m forcing you to interact with her! Just let it be! Please?" you beg a little now, hoping your bambi eyes will soften him up. They do, like always. "Fine. Do whatever you want. Don’t come crying to me when she ditches you for a new friend. Old habits die hard" he mutters under his breath, grumbling darkly. You shake your head, letting him ramble on about in unjustly Veronica is, knowing he is just still pissed off because he was the one to be dumped, not the dumper. He likes having the upper hand, but this friendship with Veronica is something he cannot control, he’ll just have to get used to it.

Luke: "Can you get that?" you ask your boyfriend, Luke, as your phone rings right in the middle of you doing a fishtail braid. "Sure. Oh…. It’s Camilla" he says quietly, handing you your phone. You release your braid and press ignore, looking up guiltily at Luke. he doesn’t know you and his ex-girlfriend, Camilla, have been talking and texting the past few weeks. "So…. You guys are friends?" he speaks you awkwardly. "Um, yeah….." you admit hesitantly. "Isn’t it kinda…. You know….. Weird?" he asks, rubbing the back of his neck. "No, not really. Are you mad?" "No. I mean, I’d prefer it if you didn’t speak to her…. I just…. I don’t want her giving you reason to break up with me. I bet she says a lot of horrible things about me" he mumbles shyly, in a rare display of humility. He is generally concerned about losing you, how sweet! "Luke, it’s not like that. We don’t even talk about you, I promise" you assure him, lifting his chin up with your index finger so you can look him in the eye. "I wouldn’t be friends with Camilla if she’d come between us" This makes his smile, as he grabs your hand affectionately and intertwines his fingers with yours. "Make sure it stays that way" he warns, a light and easy sparkle in his eyes, making you feel more at ease about the whole secret friendship thing.
