To say I was pounding the pavements in search of him was a stretch, however, I was going out more than usual in hopes of running into him again. I had went to get orange juice and other random groceries more this week than I have in all my life. But, to no avail, I never ran into my prince again. However, I don't lose hope, well, not completely. I keep my head held high, and a convincing smile on my face. I just really hope to see him again.

Fortunately for me, my dad owns the company that employs most of our town. And every holiday, they have a celebration. Usually I hate going, but there is a good chance my mystery prince will be there. And that thought makes me more excited for this dinner than I am for anything else. If his parents work for the company, he should be there. The dinner is the day before Easter, and all employees and their families are invited. I just hope and pray my future husband has someone that works there so I can see him again.

"Chloe, you can't keep thinking about it. You have to think about something else. What if he isn't there? Have you even thought about that?" Becky says to me, as she sits across the room from me.

"Yes, I have thought about if he isn't there. But it makes me sad. I don't like to think about that. If he's my prince, then I will see him again. It doesn't matter if it's in the store, or at the dinner. I really want to see him again. I mean, at least Prince Charming had a shoe to trace down Cinderella. I have nothing."

"Hey, you should just be grateful you met him. That is something. Not much, but at least you know he is out there somewhere."

"I just really hope I find him soon. Oh my gosh, I need a dress. For the dinner, I need a new dress! Becky, we have to go shopping and get me a dress!" I jump off my bed, ready to leave the house.

"Chloe, it's two in the morning, I don't think any shops are open. You'll have to wait until tomorrow. We'll go in the morning, like the morning times that people are actually awake during."

"Oh, right. Ha. I guess that would be a good idea. I'm gonna go to sleep now. Goodnight." I fall into my bed, embarrassed but ready for the morning to be here so I can find a dress.

"No, absolutely not. You are not wearing that!"

"What's wrong with it? It's cute!"

"Chloe, you are not Cinderella! And this is not a ball! It is a dinner, for your dad's company! You are not wearing a freaking ball gown!"

"Fine, okay, fine! But I'm not wearing any simple dress either! I want to look good!" I say, closing the door to the dressing room in defeat.

After 8 stores, 30 dresses, and 4 hours, I finally found the dress. A nice lavender knee length dress. Not too much, but not too little. It's very me. And I just hope my prince will love it. After shopping Becky and I go to lunch, my treat after she's spent all day with me. It was nice to be able to relax and not worry about when I'll see Prince Charming again. I realized I need to let it happen when the time is right. I just really hope that time is soon. But if it isn't, at least I know I do have someone, he is out there. And I will wait as long as I need to until I find him again.

"Thanks for coming with me Becky. And thanks for dealing with me. I really appreciate it." I say as we pull into my driveway.

"Of course Chloe. You know I have your back. It is kind of best friend code." She laughs.

"Still, it means a lot that you would deal with me being annoying and extra over a dress for a dinner when I might not even see him. Thanks for being my best friend."

"Who else is going to deal with me? I mean we have been friends for almost our whole lives. We were four years old remember?"

"How could I ever forget?" I laugh. "You offered me a glass of champagne because you thought it looked like water with bubbles." We both laugh at the memory.

"And then your mom came over and we had no clue what was going on."

"And she said, 'girls, that's a big girl drink' and we argued about being big girls until she gave up and found my mom."

"Good times. Good times."

"They were. But even now, so many years later, we still do stupid things, and still have the same amount of fun."

"Yeah, we do. Thanks again Becky." I say, getting out her car.

"Of course Chloe. Best friend code."

"See ya later. Drive safe! And call me when you get home loser!"

"If I'm a loser so are you!" She laughs out the window.

"At least we're losers together!" I laugh as she drives off.

Walking into the house I see the living room empty. I hear the boys in the basement playing video games and my mom cooking in the kitchen. I put my dress away in my room and come back down the stairs in time for my dad coming through the door. After greeting him and asking how his day went, I went to the kitchen to see if my mom needs any help. And of course she doesn't. I get the boys from downstairs, and we all eat dinner together. That's my parent's biggest rule; that we all eat dinner together. It's nice, to all be together at the end of the day.

After dinner everyone goes different ways. My parents to the living room to watch a movie, my brothers to finish their game downstairs, and me to my room, to sleep. Shopping today took too much out of me. Sleep is the only thing I have energy left for at this point.
