The weekend comes and goes, and I count down the weekdays until Wednesday is here. I want to see if Wyatt acts any differently. I don't think he will, but I have to be sure. And I want to see if he brings up all of us hanging out on Friday. Part of me hopes he doesn't, that it will be something he wants to have for just the two of us. If he does, then I know that he really doesn't see me in a romantic way, although Becky and Grayson already came up with a plan if he does invite them Friday. I just want to know how he feels, what he's thinking. I just want to know if this is one-sided. I want to know if I'm just wasting my time again.
"Hey." I say as I sit down at the table with my drink. Wyatt is the only one here so far.
"Hey," Wyatt looks up from his drink. "How was the rest of your weekend?"
"It was good, how was yours? Does your mom still think your social life only exists on Wednesdays?" We both laugh.
"No, she was surprised that I was out later than she was. That hasn't happened in a while."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for you to get home so late. That was the only showing they had open."
"Don't worry about it, she wasn't home by herself for long. She was actually glad I wasn't home when she got home. She worries that I'm lonely, it was nice to show her that I have friends to hang out with."
"Well, if you ever feel lonely we can always try and gather everyone and hang out. I know I get bored sometimes during the rest of the week."
"Yeah, we know you have no social life Chloe. You're only friends before Wyatt came along were your best friend and her boyfriend." Grayson laughs as him and Becky sit down.
"What does that say for you Grayson? Knowing that half the time your girlfriend hung out with you she had to bring her best friend?" I throw back.
"Why can't you ever just let me win?" Grayson sulks down in his chair as the rest of us laugh.
"You shouldn't have started with me. I mean, really it wasn't even that great of an insult because we were all friends before you started dating Becky anyway."
"That is true Grayson." Becky chimes in.
"Why do I even hang out with you two? Maybe Wyatt and I should hang out just us guys for once. Him and Chloe did."
"We saw a movie, its nice to hang out with people who aren't in a relationship. I don't want to always feel like such a third wheel." I say before Wyatt can feel too awkward. I don't want him to feel weird and cancel this Friday.
"Chloe you only hang out with three people, all of them are sitting at this table."
"You act like you hang out with people besides us."
"We all have no friends besides each other, at least we're all lame together. Now, can we please talk about something else?" Wyatt laughs, changing the subject.

After a few hours we all eventually get bored. Its nice to hang out with everyone, but its the middle of summer and we'd all rather be doing other things. We decide to get ice cream instead, changing the scenery from the usual coffee shop. Unfortunately for us many people share the same idea as us, and the ice cream parlor is more crowded. We eventually decide to just head home and see each other next week. Its summer, we should be enjoying time with our families anyway. I walk out with Wyatt, trying to work up the nerve to talk to him again.
"Hey, are we still hanging out on Friday?" I ask, trying to sound casual.
"Yeah, I just figured it could be just us again. Not that I don't like hanging with the whole group, but it was nice not having them being all lovey you know?"
