Sorry if this is a bit if a short chapter. Hope you enjoy!

After the bus ride with Ryan, I was at home and did my homework. My mother appeared at my door.

"What do you want to eat for dinner?" She asked.

"I'm not really sure. Maybe spaghetti? Ramen? Something with noodles."

"I see. Avoiding the fish fingers and custard tactic for once. That's new." My mother is a bit different. She will watch some shows with me, but other shows she just doesn't get. Mom watches 'Sherlock' but not 'Doctor Who' because she thinks it's "too weird". She watched the first episode and gave up. Oh well.

"Not really in the mood."

"Is something wrong? You love fish fingers and custard."

"No, just know it's not gonna work."

"Okay... I'll be preparing spaghetti if you need anything." My mom walked out and I kept working on my homework. Soon enough she called for me to eat and I ran downstairs. I was hungry.

Later that night, I was mindlessly checking Instagram when a text came into my phone. It was Rose.

"Hey. I need to talk to u"

"Like on the phone? In person?"

"No on txt message duh"

"Ok, what about"

"Ryan asked for ur number" My mind spinner through so many whys. Why did he want it? He can't develop a crush on me in the 20 minutes we spent talking on the bus. And most importantly, how did Rose get his number?

"How did u get his number?"

"John has it. Ryan texted him, then John didn't have ur number, he asked me to get it and get it back to him." I thought about this for a moment. Elisa, give him the number. No, don't. This isn't good. I debated this for a while, until I went with my guy decision and texted Rose the number.

"Thanks. See u tomorrow. And hope ur new little relationship works out ;)"

"WE ARENT DATING!!!!!!"

"Not yet anyways ;)" I rolled my eyes at the persistence of her. She would no doubt tell our friend group about this, not knowing that I was just looking for a friendship. Nothing more. I mean, it would be nice to have a boyfriend, just not now, and especially NOT with Ryan. I went back to Instagram, dreading tomorrow's gossip circle, and dreading the imminent incoming text.
