Hope you enjoy the chapter! Some of the parts I do agree may be a bit boring (coughcough Instagram part!) but it ties in later in the story so, enjoy!

No text from Ryan came in that. I was expecting one, since John and Rose used like 50 texts to get the point across that he wanted my number. Anyways, I woke up around 6:15 for school, showered, got dressed and put my makeup on, ate breakfast and hopped on the bus. (Not literally I might add). I ha learned last night that Ryan and I lived within 5 blocks of each other. It was a safe distance, but that 5 block difference wasn't enough for us to be living in different subdivisions. I walked towards my usual seat, row 21, the seat on the left by the window, to find it was already taken. No body sits in my spot. I looked to see who it was, and it was none other than Ryan.

"You're in my spot."

"It didn't say 'Elisa'." I rolled my eyes at this comment.

"It's just kind of implied." I retorted.

"Now move."

"I think not." At this point, I realized that there was not a point in arguing. I sat down next to Ryan, the seat stealer.

"I really enjoyed getting to know you yesterday." He said, breaking the ice.

"So did I. It's nice to know that your favorite color is dark blue and your favorite food is tacos."

"Hey, didn't say anything about my life being as boring as 2nd period English." Normally , I've got to admit that English is one if my favorite subjects, but Ryan was right. Yesterday's class we just had one huge lecture on the importance of knowing the difference between a complex sentence and a compound sentence. Yup, very useful. I let out a snicker (not the candy bar), and Ryan smiled.

"So you agree with me then?"

"Not usually, yesterday was just an unnecessary class."

"What do you usually learn about? The difference between a semi-colon and a colon?" The conversation went along like that for a while, and within what seemed like 5 seconds, we were at the school. We got off the bus, and started to walk towards our lockers, which were on opposite sides of the school.

"Well, I'll see you soon in math, then!" I called after him. Ryan turned around and waved goodbye.

"See ya later alligator!"

I met up with Kaylee, Lydia, and Rose after putting my stuff away at my locker. We have this game every morning that we guess what comes up on our Instagram feed. It's pretty fun, we tally up points on how many we get right, and the person with the least amount of points has to buy the others ice cream at the end of the week. I walked over to them, where the game was already in full swing.

"Kaylee, you get 2 points." Kaylee was probably the worst at the game, because she follows so many different types of people. Lydia was the best, she only followed fandom accounts.

"You ready, Elisa?" Lydia said.

"You bet." I confirmed, while opening up the app.

"I guess Phan, Connor Franta, Doctor Who, Benedict Cumberbatch, Doctor Who, How I met your mother, friend picture," (picture one of the people I know in real life has posted) "Harry Potter, and that's as far down as I can see with my divine eye." Lydia checked to see if I was right.

"Well, you got the first two, but then it goes Benedict Cumberbatch, and two Docor Who's in a row. After that, you didn't get How I met your mother, but you got friend picture and Harry Potter. 4 points!" That was a pretty decent score.

"Where's Rose? She's usually here by now."

"Probably sucking face with John in an empty corridor." Kaylee piped up. I grimaced.

"I really don't need to hear that." Kaylee looked at me and said

"Well it's the truth so you better get used to it."

Not much happened in my classes that day. Math was boring as usual, and history almost made me fall asleep. I could be doing so much more at home, or anywhere else for that matter. Who cares what happened 100 years ago? I guess the nerds that sit in the back do. Some of them are actually pretty nice. A girl named Emma watches some stuff like Supernatural and Merlin. She and I get along really well. But not a lot of people sit with the nerds at lunch. It's a mix of boys and girls that are somewhat cast away from the rest of the world. Everyone thinks they're weird. Most of them aren't, but sitting with them is a task most people wouldn't want to complete. So it was a complete surprise when I saw Ryan sitting with them at lunch. Lydia walked up next to me.

"What is he doing over there?"

"I really can't tell you. It makes no sense whatsoever."

Lydia walked away shaking her head. While she was doing that, I walked over to the table.

"Hey Elisa! Nice to see you, as always." A guy named Malcom said. I can't be completely sure, but I think Malcom has a bit of a crush on me.... Not gonna happen. Ever.

"Nice to see you too Malcom. Ryan, can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Sure." Ryan got up to talk to me. We were standing in an area by ourselves, and if my friends saw this, I would never hear the end of it.

"Why are you sitting with them? You're at a new school and you do realize that will drop your status so quickly you won't realize it happened until it's over!"

"You do realize that I really don't care, right? They're a nice group and their social status doesn't really matter to me. And I can see you status rocketing down too if you associate yourself with me. So you better get back to making small talk with your friends that apparently have more social status than Emma and Malcom even though all you do is obsess over people who aren't even real!" I was taken aback. Ryan stormed off as I stood there with my mouth hanging open. I collected my thoughts and walked back to my 'fictional' table with as much dignity as I could muster.
