Ivy woke up to a sharp pain in her wrists and a scraping sound. She groaned and tried to rub her eyes, but a clank and another sharp pain stopped her from doing so.
"You're awake," a voice said, and Ivy looked up sharply to see the murderess sitting in a windowsill, sharpening a knife. "I didn't expect you to be up so soon. I usually hit harder."
Ivy watched the girl, horrified. The last rays of sunlight illuminated the girl so that she had a fading halo. Ivy tugged at her wrists again and cried out in pain. She looked to her right and saw metal cuffs holding her arms above her head, pulling her shoulders from their sockets.
"What do you want from me," she mumbled, glaring at the girl.
"Dinner. I haven't eaten in weeks."
The sentence was so nonchalant, that Ivy didn't believe her. But the sudden rush of memories came rushing back, reminding her that the girl had already torn apart Amanda.
"You-You can't just... EAT people," Ivy's voice trembled. She cursed, knowing she sounded scared, but what was there NOT to be afraid of? This girl had ripped Amanda's chest wide open.
Ivy's attention was drawn away by a harsh laugh.
"You can't just EAT people," the girl mocked. "How stupid of you. I can do whatever I want. No one thinks I exist or am still alive. I was killed because I ate my parents. I came back to get revenge on my murderer."
She threw out the information so casually, that it scared Ivy. She'd eaten her parents? And been killed? Ivy yanked at the cuffs again, wondering what the hell to do. Finally, she spoke.
"Did you get revenge on your murderer?"
The other girl looked surprised. Apparently, she didn't often talk to her dinner.
"Of course. He begged for mercy, too. It was quite funny, actually. Watching him cry as I tore apart his family, and then him. I didn't need to hunt for weeks," she grinned, running the knife over the sharpening stone. Ivy wondered if she was doing it for effect.
"You killed his entire family?"
"Yes. Why would I not, after he'd torn me to pieces, ripped my heart from my body, and shot me in the head," she snarled. She had tensed up, and was now settling back down into the windowsill.
"He was my best friend," she said a few seconds later. There was a sadness in her voice as she looked down at her knife. "But he did kill me. And you can't just kill me without any consequences."
The girl stood up suddenly and briskly walked away.
"Where-where are you going," Ivy screamed, not wanting to be left alone.
But the girl didn't reply. She just quietly walked away, turning the lights off on her way out.
