I sniffled and rolled back onto my side, facing the wall, wrapping the blanket around myself even more to protect myself from the onslaught of chills. I heard loud steps quickly echo along the corridor before the door to m quarters was slammed open by a certain short stoic man, captain Levi. The pitter of the much more laid back but weird genius known as Zoe Hanji was heard behind him, speaking too fast for my fuzzy brain to keep up with. I groggily rolled over to look at the two, to see Hanji trying to drag the Captain - who was wearing what he uses to clean - out of my room, before he pushed her out and shut the door, placing a chair in front of it.
He turned around and walked over to me. I tried to sit up, but he quickly put his hand on my shoulder, gently pushing me back down. He withdrew his hand, and was about to speak when I sneezed incredibly loudly, the force pushing me into a sitting position before I fell back down. At this sight, he wiped his hand on an unused tissue next to my bedside.
"How did you manage to get sick idiot." he said, behind his mask. I sheepishly shrugged, before coughing into a tissue. He sighed and walked over to the table, where he picked up a bowl and a rag I hadn't seen before now. Must have brought it in with him... He walked back over, to me and gently placed the bowl next to me.
"Pull down your covers." he demanded.
"It's too cold." I croaked out, shaking my head fiercely - an action I regretted when the room started spinning.
"It's boiling hot outside. Cadets are complaining about the uniform and are taking off their jackets. Pull down the covers."
"But-"
"That's an order cadet." Sniffing, I wrestled with the covers before finally flinging them off my bed. I now la before Levi in a white undershirt and shorts - my night wear. He dipped the rag in the bowl before squeezing it out over my legs.
"What are you doing!" I squirmed, trying to avoid the ice cold rag.
"You're boiling hot. Look, your bright red everywhere - you're body is overheating." he explained, before dumping more water on my other leg. He rubbed it in with the rag a bit before moving on to my arms and neck.
A few minutes later, I started to fall asleep again as I got used to the sensation, until he brought the rag onto my face. I opened my eyes and looked a him as he folded the rag before laying it across my forehead. He then reached into his pocket and brought out a vial of liquid.
"This is supposed to be medicine, but Hanji made it, so don't blame me if it makes you bloat or something..." he aid, pulling the bung out the top of the vial and pouring it down my throat. I then started coughing again.
When I calmed down I looked at Levi.
"Thank you sir..." I croaked.
"I told you not to call me that. You can call me Levi, but not one of those god-forsake nicknames you make for me."
"Okay then L." I grinned, weakly.
"Maybe that means your getting better..." he sighed.
"Seriously though, thank you Levi."
"Yeah, well... I expect something in return."
"Do you want me to nurse you back to health when you get sick?" I asked him.
"I don't get sick." he scoffed. "I meant that, maybe, if you wanted, you could accept the proposal... That I'm making to you now... To go out with me. Officially."
"I'd love to Levi. I'd kiss you, but I can't get up." I joked, as a small smile showed itself on his face.
-- Extended ending --
"It's cold..."
"Don't be such a baby."
"I'm not a baby, I'm humanities strongest." Levi weakly retorted.
"Yeah yeah sweetie, I know you are." I smiled. "... I seem to recall you saying a while ago that you don't get sick."
"... This is your fault."
