Jungkook was staring blankly at his phone when I walked in, sitting on the floor and leaning his back against a mirror. He was so absent minded that he didn't even notice my presence.
"Jungkook?" I finally voiced out making his head jolt up, facing me.
"Hailey!" he swiftly got up from the floor and walked towards me. His first instinct was to wrap his arms around me, but he decided not to and awkwardly placed his hands behind his head instead.
I looked at him; his eyes were shining mischievously with a hint of embarrassment and his lips pressed tightly together, forming an almost straight line.
"So um...where's my brother" I asked not seeing him around.
"He said he had some chores to do and told me to practise the dance without him"
I puffed my cheeks and nodded.
'so he was being serious when he told me that he'd leave us alone to clear things out' I thought to myself recalling an earlier conversation with Jimin.
Well it had to be done. I couldn't just leave things like that since that precious boy confessed his feelings to me and I didn't even call back after my phone shut down (I blame oppa)
"Yesterday!" my voice came out rather loud and caught us both by surprised.
"Sorry" I chuckled. "I didn't hang up on you yesterday. I really didn't charge my phone properly and the battery died while we were talking..."
His wide,perfectly almond shaped eyes were fixed on mine, waiting for me to finish my sentence.
"And I had trouble switching it back on later, so I couldn't contact you again" I lied.
"Is that so?" he asked half heartedly, clearly doubting what I had just said.
"It's ok" he cut me off before I could say anything.
"You don't have to answer right now. Just think about it? I know you like me too" he smirked and raised his eyebrows as if he was questioning his own statement.
But wow was he confident.
I sighed.
"Jungkook I really do like you..."
His face lit up.
"But not in the same way you like me." I finalized, feeling like I was shredding his heart.
"Oh" he looked down on his shoes, his mood shifting negatively.
Or so I thought.
"That's ok if you let me stay close you you!" he looked at me and smiled making my chest tighten.
He looked like an obedient little puppy that would stay close to it's owner no matter what. I just wanted to ruffle his chocolate coloured strands into a complete mess.
"Besides, I thought about it and it really is too early for me to declare my feelings like this. Maybe they'll change"
I nodded in agreement.
"Or maybe yours will" he winked at me making me blush.
"Aah let's start practicing before your brother comes and scolds us for doing nothing" he said walking towards the radio and putting some music for us to warm up.
"Are you gonna dance with that?" he asked pointing at my top; a washed out turquoise turtle neck.
"Yeah..."
"Hailey you're going to get tired and sweaty more easily with that"
"I know...i just forgot that we had practice today" I tried to excuse myself again with lies.
I wore that to cover the purple marks that Jimin didn't hesitate to leave behind. Using make-up did not achieve a great coverage so I was left with wearing that.
"I have an extra shirt. You could borrow it if you want?"
I shook my head viciously making him frown.
"I'm fine" I put up a fake smile and he shrugged.
We proceeded to our normal routine and no kidding, I felt like dying half way through.
"Hailey are you ok? You look pale"
Jungkook asked stepping closer to me.
Suddenly my vision started to darken and the whole room began to twist.
The next thing a knew, I was on the floor, my arm aching from the unforeseen strong impact against the hard wood.
I struggled to keep my eyes open and Jungkook's voice pierced through my ears before everything went completely black.
