Anne POV

I had no idea why Ben reacted that way. It wasn't effecting anyone else. I wonder if it was because of the spikes. None the less I get Ben under a tent and try to calm him down. It seems that if Hal is with him, he is calm. I look up and see no more dust above us. However, it is slightly going east.

"Anne what is that?" Hal asks me and I shrug.

"I have no idea." I answered, and I didn't. But I do plan to ask Cochise about this with Tom. Whatever it is, it can't be good.

Without Pope ripping them out every 5 minutes, Ben's spikes are finally healing correctly. But he keeps moaning because it hurts. I can't imagine the pain he is in, physically and mentally.

Hal is rubbing his arm. These two boys fill my heart with warmth. Since I've lost two children, I find myself growing closer to these boys. Not my blood sons, but still my sons.

"Anne?" I hear from outside the tent. I turn towards the opening and so does Hal. Together we watch as Tom enters the tent. He is a little bloody, but I don't think any of it is his.

"Tom." I say and we hug. Tom looks back down at Ben and begins to rub his arm again. Ben groans and Tom pulls away and looks at his son for the first time.

"Is he ok?" Tom asks and and I shrug.

"Hal and I made him comfortable outside, but when the dust came down Ben started to scream." I say and Tom looks at Ben again. Hal looks back up and he nods to his eldest.

"We should talk to Cochise." Tom says and I nod my head.

"Tomorrow." I say and he kisses me goodbye and hugs his sons, even though Ben couldn't hug him back.

Then he leaves presumably to check up on the rest of us. That is a leaders job after all. My husband the leader.
