Chapter 2

I get back to an empty house. I let out a huff and throw my bag down next to the door, making my way into the front room. Throwing myself on the settee, I chuck on the telly and flick through the music channels, leaving it on HeartTV which was playing Could It Be Magic.

I let my mind wander and it goes back to the boy at the bus stop. I don't think such a small interaction from anyone has ever made me so very interested before, and such a simple one at that. Like he goes around living his life as the most attractive person on earth but has no idea about it?

I wonder if he took a second glance at me. If boring old run of the mill Harry could peek the interest of anyone- let alone this nameless hunk.

I try not to think about it too much, but looking back, I've only ever found boys bang-able. It makes me quite nauseous. I remember when June for church found out her daughter had a girlfriend, she tried to be supportive- she went to Father Bob for advice on it as well. Deep down I can tell she's still disappointed.

See thats the thing, being unexcepting is a point blank, you can lash out at unexcepting. But disappointed? No. Thats a hole other kettle of fish. Disappointed is something you can't change, it's something the person can't help feeling. I couldn't do that to my Gran, I'm her only grandchild for Pete's sake! It would tare her apart knowing I couldn't have my own children!

Pulling myself from my thoughts with a deep sigh and shake my head. When I look to the telly I see the adverts have started, I flick to another channel and turn the volume up when I get one with a good song on. I chuck the remote on the settee and walk through to the back room, flicking the kettle on, getting out a mug and started making a bowl of super noodles.

After finishing making my food, I walk back through to the front room and shove on Down With Love. 'cause who doesn't love a good RomCom to eat their noodles to?!

About half way through the film, when Catcher chucks the wine cooler walker over his head, my Mam walks in and sits down next to me.

We've watched the film together many times before and knows exactly whats going on. "Mind our Ewan's beautiful in this, like."

"God yeah" I say under my breath, and my eyes widen slightly as I realise what just came out of my mouth.

My Mam turns to me with a small smile on her lips and a raised eyebrow, "That so Harry?" she says with a chuckle.

I let out a forced cough,"Um, yeah- sure." I say and put my attention back on the telly.

My Mam then puts her arm around my, rubbing my shoulder and I lean into the hug. "Love you always hun, no matter what." She says placing a kiss into my curls. I can't help but smile and give her a small squeeze.

I sit back up and we watch the rest of the film in a comfortable silence.

It's the next Monday and I've seen that beautiful son of a gun on the bus every day on the bus to and from college. Each time we'll always give each other a smile, and I caught him staring on Wednesday- which was a truly epic feeling.

I get to the bus stop this morning with my coat wrapped tightly around me to keep me from the dreary weather, and I see Victor, the Dad of my Mam's best friend since school. I give him a small wave with a smile on my face.

"Hi Victor, how're you doing on this not so lovely morning?"

"I'm doing very well, thank you Harry." he says, smiling, like my greeting him has really brighten his morning. "Where are you off to?"

We have quite a nice conversation, when I see mr dream boat stroll up to the stop with his hood covering his head and lean against the outside of the shelter. Seeing him brought a small smile to my face, he looks to me and returns the gesture before directing his attention to the road inform of us.

I swear I felt my stomach flip there. I let out some air and direct my attention back to the ageing man stood inform of me.

Seconds later the bus arrives and I stand to let Victor on the bus before me, "Age before beauty!"

"Uh! The cheek!" He says with a laugh. He get on the bus with his retirement pass and I stay stood, waiting for the horrendously handsome boy to get on before me.

He takes the offer, giving me a warm smile in thanks, before getting on the bus. I feel my cheeks heat up a considerable amount and I can't help the smile.

I forgot I had to more until the unimpressed bus driver snapped me out of it with a "Are you getting on or what mate?" and I quickly move in, swiping my travel pass and take a seat near the front of the bus next to a lady in what looks to be a nurses uniform. Not before gaining eye contact with the boy sat near the back, with what seems to be a proud look on his face.

When I get off the bus, making sure to give the as yet unnamed boy a quick smile, and made my way to the landing outside of the hall where my form class is. Getting there, I sit with Nancy and Paul who are already sat there.

I don't really join in the already established conversation and wait for Bainbridge to get here. While waiting, I watch the body language of the two sat inform on me. Overly smiley and a bit of fidgeting? I wonder...

Bainbridge gets there minuets later and neither of them seem to notice. He sits next to me and I give him a nudge to the arm, "Ten quid they're in a relationship before half term?"

He gives me a questioning look, viewing the two before looking back to me and putting his hand out, "You're on mate." With a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

Looking at my phone for the time I see it's time to go in, informing my friends, we walk into tutor and take our seats from yesterday.

After everyone is in and ready, Geoff stands at the front of the room with a powerpoint set up, ready for form.

"Rightieo! Lets start then, yeah?" He says rubbing his hands together. "So since you're all new here, we are required to have some form debates and conversations. Also have to do some safeguarding talk, which is always great fun,

For the next couple weeks our 'sex drugs and rock n' roll' lady, Sarah: from the plc, will be coming in to talk with you about the obvious." A grown was heard around the room. "Don't blame me for this, college policies!"

For the rest of the hour we sat and listened to everything we had to know, what the 'British Values' where, and how to avoid becoming radicalised. Overall rather boring- apparently necessary.

I take my time walking to the bus stop after I finished for the day. We were let out a bit early today and the bus isn't due for quite a while yet. When I get there, I see that the boy had already arrived, stood with a girl with layered red hair and fags in the hands of both of them.

I watch him having small conversation with the girl, looking quite distracted as he absentmindedly used his lighter to melt the side of the bus shelter slightly.

I guess I had been taking in the scene for longer than thought, as he lifted his head and looked me in the eye, a smile making its way onto his face as he raised his eyebrows in greeting. I felt my cheeks heat and I evert my gaze to the ground in front of me, not bothering to hide the smile that came onto my face.

I hear a small chuckle come from his direction as he tunes to the girl he's with and continues on with whatever they were talking about before.

Soon after this, our bus pulls into the stop and I let the boy on in front of me, getting a smile from him in the process. I follow behind him and I take a seat next to a young lad, wearing my old comps uniform.

I see the girl outside the window looking at the dream boy and making odd gestures towards me, which I found confusing. I looked between the two and saw him looking rather embarrassed, turning back to the girl I catch her eye.

She pointed back to the boy and winked, making an 'okay' sign with her hand. I give him one more look, before a smile crept up to my face and bloody rushed to my cheeks, I then diverted my eyes to the floor of the bus as I hear the doors close and feel the driver pull out and start down the road.

I swear- I have never blushed this much in the space of a week in my life, and I really don't know if it bothers me too much...
