"Hello? Earth to Yura?" A loud snap was heard in front of my face, stunning me and bringing me back from my train of thoughts. Looking at Jimin, he looked just as confused as I am.
"Your food is here?" He used a finger and pointed at the plate of crepes in front of me(that I just realized). Only now did I start to notice the fragrant smell of Swiss cheese and fresh ham drifting across the air around me.
"Oh. Let's dig in then!" I grinned, fork already poking at the skin of the crepe. No reply was given, so I glanced at Jimin only to see him smirking proudly at me.
"What?"
"I got you flustered there just now, didn't I?" Not following what he said, I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Huh?"
"Never mind. Just eat, it won't taste good if it turns cold." Jimin sighed, a small smile still lingering around as he started to cut at his short ribs. Frowning at his peculiarity, I slowly put the first piece into my mouth. God, I was speechless at how good this tasted.
Despite the awesome taste of the crepe, I can't help but ponder on Jimin's words.
I got you flustered there just now, didn't I?
Something started to burn at the pit of my stomach, sending painful jolts through my veins as I swallowed to wash out the discomfort I was having.
"Do I have to snap you out of your daze again?" Another snap sounded. Pretending that I wasn't drifting away for the past minute, I only clicked my tongue and shoved a piece of my share into Jimin's mouth to shut him up.
"Just shut your trap and eat. You don't get food as good as this everyday."
"No, it's just you that don't get food this good everyday."
"Christ, shut up!" He chuckled, clearly enjoying my frustration.
We finished our food and paid for it(after a good ten minutes of bickering over who would be the one to treat) before making our way to the car. Jimin did not speak; he only drove out onto the highway with just the sight of yellow plain fields zooming in and out of my view.
It wasn't only after thirty minutes of driving when I finally got the courage to break the awkwardness that only I seemed to feel, seeing that Jimin still had a soft smile on his face.
"So.. where are we going?" No reply.
"Are we going back to the hotel?"
"Are you lost?"
Still, no answer was made, Jimin still having his eyes peeled on the road. The silence he was maintaining made me shift in my seat, knowing he wasn't one to ignore questions for a long time. I could feel that painful burn that was beginning to grow at the bottom of my stomach, the smoke beginning to scratch at my throat. I coughed a little to let out the tension.
Nevertheless, I stuck to his play until we drove up to a familiar place. He parked his car under a tree in a quiet town, a café was in front of us with metal chairs and tables being placed outside. Suddenly, the past replayed before my eyes.
A flashback.. we've been here before.
It was where Jimin and I went when we skipped the wine session. No, it was where Jimin took me when we skipped the session. Nothing changed here, it was just as before. The faint smell of a cig burning up wafting in the air along with the scent of roasted
Garlic.
