Chapter 2: What are you?

Ali's POV

"You found me", I squealed. All the people around me smiled at me. "Hi sweetie, whats your name?", A blond haired woman asked crouching down to my level with a huge smile on her face. "Ali", I said shyly. "My name is Rosalie, but you can call me Rose", Rose said. "My real name is Allison, but you can call me Ali", I said copying Rose. Rose giggled and  said "Okay honey. This is my husband, Emmett", she pointed to Emmett, he waved to me, I waved back and then he made a funny face which made me giggle. "This is Carlisle and Esme", Rose pointed to a tall blond man and a caramel haired woman. I waved and both waved back while smiling. "I have a question", I said. "Whats that honey?", Rose asked. "Can I give people nicknames? I can remember nicknames better than actual names", I said.  Rose turned towards the other people and they all nodded. "Okay sweetie", Rose said. "Auntie Rose, Uncle Em, Auntie Esme, and Uncle Carlisle?", I asked. Rose didn't even turn around to see if it was okay with the others before squealing "Yes, of course sweetie!", "Okay well, that is Jasper and Alice", She pointed to a pixie like woman and a blond man with longer wavy hair. "Auntie Aly and Uncle Jaz?", I asked. They both smiled and nodded. I smiled. "That is Edward, Bella, and their daughter Renesmee", Rose said. I was getting ready to say my nicknames, but Edward said it before I could. "Those names are fine", Eddie said. I smiled even though I was confused. "What names?", Em asked. "Uncle Eddie, Auntie Bella, and Ren", I said. "Ren....I love it", Ren squealed, jumping up and down. I smiled. "We have another person to our little family too. His name is Jacob, but you can call him Jake", Ren said. "Okay!", I said excited to meet the rest of the nice people.  "Why does squirt get to call Edward, Eddi and we don't", Em asked while he pouted. "Because squirt is cute and you are not", Eddie said teasingly. " Uncle Em, it is not pretty to pout, my mommy says that is the reason god made us able to smile", I said proudly. Everyone visually stiffened when I said that. "Your mother sounds like a lovely woman Ali", Esme said. I smiled. "I don't remember much about her. I only remember that she was my mommy and that her name was a song", I said.

   I walked over to the four people I had not gotten the names of. I walked over to the girl. She looked only a few years older than me. I pulled on her cape and she turned around. "Yes sweet heart", she said getting down to my height. The room was silent. I looked around and everyone was staring at the lady with amazement. Uncle Em and Eddie's mouths were open. "Uncle Em and Eddie, close your mouth, you'll catch flies", I said sarcastically. I hear Jaz laugh and I giggled. I looked back to the lady in the cape. "I don't know your guy's names", I said. I felt like she would protect me so I wasn't as shy with her. A smile appeared on her face and she looked at the three men to her left. " I am Jane, the one next to me is my brother Alec. The one next to him is Demetri, and the last one that is really tall is Felix", Jane said. I smiled. "Jane, Alec, Dem, and Felix?", I asked. She nodded. "If we get nicknames does that mean we can give you nicknames?", Felix asked with a smirk on his face. "Shoot", I said. "Bug", Felix said. I pouted. "If this is about my height it is not funny", I said. "It is not just about your height. You seem to like nature, and there is all kinds of bugs in nature, that makes everything beautiful and unique", Felix said smiling. "Awww Felix that was beautiful", Esme said. "Yeah", I said nodding my head agreeing with Esme. "Mine is Kitty", Dem said. "Why?", Ren and I asked at the same time. I turned to her and giggled. " When you sleep you make like a purring sound, like a cat", Dem said. "Oh", I said finding my shoes very interesting while blushing. "I have one too", Jane said. "What is it?", I asked. "Al", Jane said smiling. I nodded my head smiling back. "Finally my turn", Alec said sarcastically, "Tesoro meaning Darling". I smiled wide. I ran over to Alec and hugged him. I felt like I was draw to him, like my-self to candy. "Alec, will you be my best friend?", I asked. "Of course Ali", He said smiling. I loved his smile. I vowed to my-self I would try to make him smile or laugh as much as possible. I turned to Jane. "Jane will you be my other best friend", I asked. Her face lit up. "Of course Al", She said practically bouncing. I laughed. "Well mine,  Jasper's, and Edward's for you will be Squirt", Em said. "Okay", I said giggling.

   A man that was tall, tan, and had black hair walked through the door. He saw Jane, Alec, Dem, and Felix, and growled and stood in front of Ren. "What are they doing here", the man snarled. I hid behind Jane and Alec. "We needed to see Carlisle", Jane growled out. I hugged Jane's leg. "Jacob calm down. You are scaring Ali", Jaz said. "Who is Ali?", Jacob asked. I stepped out a little, just enough to have my face out of Jane's cape. "Why is she with the blood suckers", Jake asked.  "Careful mutt", Jane hisses. "Jacob", Bella scolds. "The girl is Alec's mate", Carlisle said. I started backing up. Jane turned around noticing my absence. " Demone sangue (Blood demon)", I whispered. I remembered my mommy telling me the stories of the blood demons that ran though out our families history. My great grandma had fallen in love with one and she had died in the hands of the blood demon or vampire. I looked around and saw the shocked faces of Jane, Alec, Dem, Felix, Carlisle, and Eddie. Alec tried walking toward me and I shied away from him. A look of hurt crossed his face, and I immediately felt bad, but my fear was higher. "Ali we are not going to hurt you, not like in the stories like what your mother told you", Eddie said. How? "I can read people's minds, Jasper can read and manipulate emotions, Alice can see the future, Bella is a shield, Renesmee can show you her memories, Jane can cause pain, Alec can deprive you of all senses, Demetri is a tracker, and Felix is stronger than your normal vampire, and Jacob is a shape shiftier", Eddi said.

~Later on~

  Carlisle took me up to his office to look me over and make sure I was okay. I questioned him as he did so. "So the ones with the golden eyes drink from animals and the ones with the red eyes drink from humans?", I asked. Carlisle nodded. "Okay", I said. "What does Jacob shift into?", I asked. "A wolf", Carlisle said. "Like a fluffy puppy? Is that Jane called him a mutt?", I asked excitedly. Carlisle nodded. "Do you think I could get by with calling him fluffy?", I asked. Then I heard noises from down stairs. "No you can't..... Fine.... Jasper knock it off with the mood control", Jake yelled. There was several bangs and then there was a thump. "Teach the fluffy puppy, not to mess with the emotion master", Jaz said. "Why did Jaz hit Jake?", I asked. "A prank last week", Carlisle answered. " Ali did you know your heart runs a little faster than normal",  Carlisle asked. "Yeah mommy always told me that I got it from my daddy", I said.

Carlisle's POV

  Ever since she said the words blood demon in italian, I knew there was something different with her. Her heart rate was abnormally fast. Not as fast as Renesmee's, but faster than a normal humans. I was worried that there was something wrong with her until she said she got it from her father. There was something different about her, how after being in the cold for that long she had no brain damage, how she has no signs of getting sick, and she has almost flawless skin. Seeing how she tripped on the stairs I don't know how she does not have little scars all over the place. There is one question that remains unsolved. What are you Allison Swanson?
